After a minor issue at the senior's home we visit, Maze is back in the game!
Week before Christmas one of the residents had accused Maze of biting me when in reality she had just turned her self into a pretzel while getting her butt scratched. The nurses were really understanding and tried their best to get the residents to accept Maze, but they were just to afraid of her. I sent an email to my team leader explaining the situation and asking his opinion. We set up a monitored visit at the other senior's home to see how the residents react to her for a first time visit.
So this morning we had a 20 minute game of fetch in the park then a walk up to the home so she was some what tired. Well.. Mellow-ish but not. Lol! We arrived there before the team leader so I did some "watch me" in the lobby while we waited.
We got going and every one LOVED her! She took treats nicely, had a conversation with a guy, didn't pull TOO bad. Lol. At one time, she did the pretzel dance and I pointed out to the team leader that this is what the "bite" was. He started to laugh. After the visit, we did a meet and greet with his little dog. Takulik got in her face, she corrected and the team leader asked if this was the aggressive behavior that he was warned about. I said yeah but I didn't think it was true aggression. Neither did he! He totally understand that it's just the way dogs communicate. Thank God I have a team leader who understands dogs!
So the final verdict is: We will continue visiting and at the end of January, we will take the test!
