flirt pole

Me and my fiance made a flirt pole out of a 4 foot wood rod, 2 cotton gloves, a squeaky ball and braided twine rope.

It turned out great! I take each dog out ands spin in circles having them chase it until im dizzy, then let them hang off of it, Kuniva LOVES to grab and hang off stuff LoL. It seems to be standing up to the task, all my other toys I use as tugs get shredded by Proof and Kuniva. Grim is in love with it and looks forward to his turn, going crazy in the Xpen the whole time :P

Now I have another way to excercise the crew now that I wont be able to use my bike because of snow soon...come back summer!

Bruder loves his flirt pole. The one we have now is made of the white plastic pvc pipe...its 1/4 inch if I remember correctlu. Drilled a hole through one end and fished a leather boot string through it tieing an old rag to the end. I like to get him going so that he spins in the air to get his prey. Fun, fun, fun!

I perfer a lunge whip for a flirt pole, it works a TON better. Both PVC and wood ones I've used were all way to heavy and bulky to easily whip around. I have a horse lunge whip that you can get for $5-10 at Tractor supply. Just tie a toy to the end of it, and you're ready to go!

Yes it is so fun for them! Good Idea on the lunge whip. The wood rod is a bit heavy and if I want Kuniva to actually get a good amount of airtime I have to recruit Tim to hold it while Kuniva hangs and twirls his body, my arms get sore after running 3 dogs on it!

Is it sturdy enough to pick a 15-25 lb dog off the ground? Thats Kunivas and Proofs faveorite part
