    BuckleDown collar

Got a really cool collar for Kuniva today. By the company BuckleDown, made in the usa...I usually do not like snap buckle collars because Ive witnessed one snap and a dog get hit on the road but these are built like a carseat buckle. Seems very sturdy. It says "Born to raise hell" Devil

have you seen these? What do you think?

It was pricey at 20 bucks but I get a discount and will only pick one up for Proof if im satisfied with Kunivas.

Ive been having trouble posting pics and the fiances been busy, but soon I will figure it out and post some!!  I walked my boys around the creek yesterday and everyone we ran into loved the collar besides one lady who seemed to be taken aback that it said "hell". LoL!!!

So far I like the collar, looked at the others today and think Im going to go ahead and get Proof one. It says "Trust no one" and proof doesnt care for other people at all, rarely greets. Fits him so much I think im going to get him it! byebye week spending money! Bug recently got a snazzy red and tan collar so I think I wont pick one up for her...unless they have a fitting saying on one of them...Wink

     Here's what they look like

Great collar, but it would be useless with all of Tootsie's fur.

Nice collar, but my girls' fur hides all the cute collars.  Maska, on the other hand, might look dandy in one of those.

What material are they made from? Very cool!

And I don't think $20 is even CLOSE to too much for a collar. With that, I will stop talkingEmbarrassed

A friend from work bought one for Cher & it was her first collar.  It was very cute, but the buckle was not reliable.  It diconnected on it's own numerous times.  Because I didn't want to hurt the friend's feelings, I would have Cher wear it to work.  I used a thin slip leash to walk her on instead of the collar.  When the elevator got to our floor, I would take the slip leash off, so that my friend could see Cher in the collar that she bought her.  Eventually, it disconnected while Cher was wading in a creek during a hike.  I opted not to go in the water to try to retrieve it.

It is definitely not a collar that I would go out & buy.  I would be too worried that it would come loose at the wrong time.

I've had collars come apart in so many spots. It's ridiculous. They're just not made for rough wear, and mine are rough little monkeys. They do not pull, and don't even wear collars at home. I have no idea how they tear them up, but hand made collars have held up WELL for me, for the most part, compared to store bought.

I NEVER, EVER, trust snap buckles. Plastic, metal, whatever else they make them out of, I will never trust any kind of snap buckle. I have seen SO many dogs get loose because of snap buckles. I really dont care how high they are rated, I have seen way to many of them fail to ever trust them again.

Actually, I really dont use any collars or leashes that I havent made myself. Ever since I started making my own leather collars/harnesses/leashes, I cant imagine using any of the low quality crap thats sold in pet stores.

they are nylon, and yeah i dont like snaps either but love these collars. Still dont trust them and like harnesses when we head out in public. :)
