Where to buy honest kitchen products?

My local pet food store is raping me with their prices. Any online sources that's reasonable or should I just order from Honestkitchen.com?

I likek K9 Cuisine - free shipping for orders over $50 and sadly that's so easy to do.

I knew I could rely on you Becca! Yes While I have your attention, what you think of their "Thrive" formula? Kane hasn't been doing too hot on raw and I'm considering taking him off for 2-3 months but I can't stomach putting him back on kibble and the dehydrated stuff looks pretty solid. I'm in need of your blessings. Thanks Bec!

I've been looking into honest kitchen and sojos myself... honest kitchen has incredibly high shipping costs (I"m sure it costs then a ton, but a $50 box/10lbs is almot $15 shipping) but k9cuisine tended to be a little higher on the price. Personally, there are a couple shops somewhat close to me that carry one or the other, and I'm sure they could order me something if I needed it.... I haven't compared prices, but I HATE to spend a fortune on shipping so it would either be k9cuisine and just order enough to make the small price hike worth it for free shipping or shop locally.

Just curious, what problems are you having on raw?

I had issues with dehydrated, when I tried it, but my dog is a freak of nature. She really just can't eat anything.....

I've had good luck with all their formulas, but can't find it for less $$$ anywhere. Over the net and my local store come out about the same.

Let us know if you find a deal anywhere!

Keen looks rather similar to our working diet.  The protein is low though - I'd want to know whether it were possible to supplement with RMBs, and how much.  2/3 of this and 1/3 of something like a pork rib or chicken quarter would be just fine for my gang, I think, and certainly for a dog that's more or less an active companion.

Honest Kitchen is s terrific company  All you have to do is ask them about feeding recommendations and nutritional information, and they will answer your questions readily.

Thanks! That's much better than what I have been paying.

BC -- how do we figure out the protein level when hydrated? Is it roughly 3x the dry? (Not sure why that number is in my head)

Dollars to donuts HK will be glad to tell you - but, it's the other way, which is why I was concerned.  Protein will go down because you are adding moisture not protein.  I suspect it will be comparable to canned meat - 8 to 10 percent protein.

Plain ol' meat is 20 to 30% protein. (RMBs are in the lower end of that).

My head is SUPER foggy right now (so much so that it took me four tries to spell "foggy" right!).  Sorry I can't ex[lain this better ATM!

Be sure to check out all the local outlets as well. I just found out this afternoon that a local source sold it at the same price but I would easily saved 8 bucks in shipping and didn't have to wait. Too bad I was too impatient and ordered it last night!

I hope that Kane does better on something a little different. Emma is the opposite. She insta-firms on raw. Silly dogs.... Trying to keep us on our toes.

It's odd because his stool was firm the second day on raw but it was never consistent. Lately, it's always been "runny" and very loose so I wanted to try a different approach.
