    Taking dog nutrition too far?

This is not intended for a debate, I just wanted to share something I found funny at my local pet store today....

I was in Phydeaux (a holistic pet store in Carrboro, NC), and this lady came in and wanted to return her bag of Natural Balance (the regular formula).  She said "I fed it to my dog and she licked her paw once that afternoon....I think she is allergic to something in the food."    [8|][8|]

It just got me thinking and I just hope we can all take a step back and realize when we are taking something too far! lol [:D]

Perhaps someone forgot to tell her that dogs lick themselves?[sm=lol.gif]  I understand how it can be with an allergic dog, but good grief!  The poor dog, can you imagine how much food they must go through.

Oh, that's just ridiculous.  She licked once so the food was an issue.  Sorry, that's just being an idiot.

I wanted to say that but you beat me to it. Dang!

It is a bit presumptuous to assume an allergy that soon. For goodness sake, I had Shadow on that other food for two weeks with sneezing fits before I gave up the ghost.

I think Tony tried several different brands for extended periods of time, much longer than I did.

    I guess there's anal-retentive and then there's ANAL-RETENTIVE.

Oh, jez, you wouldn't believe how silly people are.  As many of you know, I used to work at a pet supplies store.

My favorite is the people that know a little about animal nutrition and take it to the extreme.  For example: people who don't like to see chicken meal because they get meal confused with by product.  Or feed Beneful because there's vegetables on the bag.  I could go on and on.

LOL, I had a client bring her dog in for boarding and proceeded to tell me that "Fluffy likes the vegetables..." while she was pointing to the long green pieces of kibbles in the zip lock bag of food she brought in for us to feed her. I didn't have the heart or time to explain that they are really NOT vegetables!! [sm=banghead002.gif]

that persons comment is nothing compared to some of the ones I ran into when in practice...

Would love to hear some of your stories! But maybe that should be in a thread all it's own! [:D]

Being as infomed as possible and watching to see how  your dog responds is an EXCELLENT idea IMO... but being totally panaroid and rediculous... well thats just crazy.[:D]

(I wish this had voice lol... I think I heard that on Sat Night live before... "well thats just crazy" in a silly high pitched tone... ah well...)

just one then I'll shut up  I used to use a tape recorder in my office to note down, specific things for each case...Well i heard a  comotion in the waiting room..
when i got out there I sureptisiously turned on the recorder for about ten minutes then after seeing the patient I took the tape home and asked my wife to guess as to how many  people there were in the waiting room..She guessed about 6.. Actually it was one lady and her ;parrakete (sp) but she was using all different voices and i don;t think the darn bird said a darn thing....not funny but it was then

I had a customer burp in my face. She was mad that the food she wanted was no longer on sale and said, "Well, I'll just go to Walmart then."  I calmly said, "Well to save you the extra trip, I can call Walmart and match their price."  She was the huffing puffing type in which nothing you did would make her happy.  She walked right up to me and burped in my face.  I shouldn't have said this next part but I did; "Wow, you're a miserable person.  Why are you taking it out on me."

    People can really suck[:@]

My sentiments exactly.  I wonder what she would say if she were to see Romeo adoringly licking his doggy organ for a while [sm=lol.gif][sm=lol.gif][sm=lol.gif]
