Jake has not been wanting his homecooked food lately. So this morning I gave him natural balance eatables "chinese take out," it is chicken with carrots, peas, string beans in a gravy. He loved it! He ate all of it and left his homecooked. So I guess it's back to dog food. The thing is I don't want to keep switching and upset his stomach, but if he wants toeat dog food, that's fine with me.
There's about 300 calories in a 15 oz. can of natural balance eatables. That's not enough for a 30 pound dog in one day. The cans are $3 each. Too expensive to give him 2 cans at day at $3 each, so I was thinking can I get the regular can on natural balance chicken and add half of the eatables chicken can to that? So he would get half a can of chicken and half a can of eatables mixed together 2 times a day? That would give him sufficent calories. I would do the same thing with the beef. Half a can of beef and half a can of eatables beef. Would do you all think? Is that okay?
If he prefers his dog food I should give him that right? I know homecooking is better but honestly since I started homecooking he is scratching more and licking his paws more and his electrolytes are off. I just need to find a meal plan and stick with it.
Opinions please.
