And if there are other contaminated human foods, well, humans will be dying too, so it all equals out.[;)]

I don't understand what you're trying to say.

My setter is wheat/corn sensitive and my pointer is prone to UTIs.  I found that Eagle Pack Hollistics has a very low target PH, it doesn't contain wheat or corn, they love it and it produces small, firm stools from both of my dogs.  They both have beeeaauuutiful skin and coat condition (my vet raves), lots of energy and happy healthy faces.  The rep from Eagle Pack was very prompt with a response when I had questions and it's made about 30 miles from my home.

It is not inexpensive, but they are my pride and joy and if this food makes them thrive, it's not too expensive for me.

The topic here folks is what should I be feeding my dog?  Not what should I eat, feed my kids, worry about being contaminated.....

    Please remain on topic.

[:)] Wow, everybody! Thanks for all the great help!
I think I might have to print out all the replies and do some serious studying on them. I will have to do some looking for some of those different brands. We have quite a bit of the Science Diet right now, so I will wait till we are down a ways and then see what I can find.
I really appreciate all the help! This looks like it's a super 4M!
I need to get up to the Introduction thread and introduce myself properly soon!

Okay I found 3 of you that like this food. .... Questions... My 3 Westies are on it... But I notice there stools aren't very firm... Did any of you notice this??? Im adding fiber now or canned pumkin to this food... that is the only thing I don't like is the way there stools aren't  well form. But THEY  LOVE THIS FOOD... I tried switching to a new food called Kumpi... I did a post on it... well Its not working cause these guys pick out the Royal Canin to eat and leave the Kumpi in the dish.... So ya think they are telling me something[;)]

When comparing the cost of foods, be sure to compare the price per serving.  If one has to feed 1 cup of food A, but 2 cups of food B, then compare the cost of 10lbs of food A to 20lbs of food B, etc.  Lots of people just compare the price per pound.

Educate yourself on ingredients, but not right before eating.  Some ingredients are likely to make you nauseated (e.g. animal digest)!

Maggie is a 7 month old Yorkie/poodle mix. She weighs between 12 and 13 pounds(was SUPPOSED to only be 5-8 pounds!). She isn't fat, just growing!!!!!

So much for genetic predictions!  [sm=lol.gif]  The most predictable thing about mixes is that they are not predicatable.

We would love to see some pictures!

I have found that Blue Buffalo gave my dog larger, softer stools, and now I'm having problems with her anal glands. If you can, I would get a sample and see how your dog handles the different foods. That way you don't have to commit to a huge bag of food that may not work for your dog.

ORIGINAL: Maggies mom    I really want to do what is best for her, so what do you recommend we feed her???
    I would appreciate your help!

I recommend feeding Abady granular.  IMO it is the best and I have had excellent results over the past 5 years feeding Abady.
