Update, I switched their foods over to IVD Royal Venison/Potatoes per "Dogtor J" due to the Chocolate having seizures and the yellow having allergies - not my first choice in food, but it seems to be working. I like Canidae's and once we get everything under control and healed, may switch back. Since going all Natural I see that alot of you use supplements, my babies are 6 1/2 & 12 years old and suggestion??
I took 12 year old (Sunnie) to the vet and they wanted to give her a shot for her allergies, itching. hot spots, but I elected to try home remendies first. I tried a new shampoo today Groomers Secret, her coat looks great! I'm applying epsom salts/water mixture 3 times a day on the hot spots to dry out. And instead of applying Advantage I'm trying the suggestion of the lemon spritz.
CITRUS REPELLENT: Cut a lemon into quarters and place in a pint jug. Cover the lemon with boiling water and let it steep overnight.
Next day you have a flea repellent that you can use in a spray bottle. Spray over your dog remembering especially behind the ears.
I am having to give her Cephalexin for the (3) hot spots that's she's licked and caused a small infection and Hydroxyzine for the itching instead of Benadryl. I feel good about this vs giving her a steriod and Advantage, what do you guys think, input appreciated.
