Who regulates TO??

    Good post, Sharon.

I take it, from the letter, that TO's problems are logistical rather than that of quality control. Though there is no denial of a connection with Diamond, I would assume, from the letter, that TO is not connected with them which, to me, would resolve the issue of any contamination issues for TO.

I'd be interested to see the original questions that this letter addresses. That there is no denial of an association with Diamond concerns me greatly. In a situation such as this, I'd think that they would want to distance themselves as much as possible from Diamond. This letter strikes me as dancing around the issue...

we felt that with what happened to another pet food company recently, that we should put in ;place and have new agreements signed with our mill that would eliminate any risk of any such similar occurrences from happening to us

I guess I don't understand. Does aflatoxin affect more than corn?

    I second that one Sooner.

Typical.  Why on earth would they need to state that they have no association w/Diamond ??  That would PRESUME that they have a relationship with Diamond and there is NO proof of that.  Do you see all of the other manufacturers making claims that  THEY don't have any associations to Diamond ??

That's why I wanted to see the original question that was asked. If it was "Are Timberwolf Organic's foods manufactured at a Diamond plant?", then I don't consider their answer a straight answer.

I don't see other manufacturers putting up banners that state they aren't affiliated, but I'd imagine if you asked them about it they'd be quick to make it clear. And, like Ron said, Nutro did actually put up a notice.

Lazlowe and Sooner are on a witchhunt and NO amount of information is going to satisfy them so I'm going to leave it up to them find out for themselves.

Awesome! You crack me up!! Is that for real?

At least we won't annoy you with our questions about the food.

Ron... no matter how much information I can come up with... Lazlowe and Sooner are on a witchhunt and NO amount of information is going to satisfy them so I'm going to leave it up to  them find out for themselves.

I'm sorry, I guess I missed the part where you came up with relevant, straightforward information.

Believe me... I'd LOVE to find out this information for myself... unfortunately TO does not address questions about their product with their customers. [sm=banghead002.gif]

I ordered TO for the first time about three weeks ago. They sent an email confirming the order, and they emailed me when it was shipped out. My order arrived 6 days from when I placed my order and the bags were sealed foil bags.
    A problem free order.
    And my dog loves it.
Am I concerned about all that's being said here? Yes..... but I'm going to stick with the TO for now and see how my dog does on it.

Well, *I'm* not on a witchhunt.  I don't feed TO and don't plan to.  But I have been following this thread because I have a couple of friends who feed it.  And honestly MOP, the way you worded your post "here's the letter straight from the horses mouth" in response to a question that specifically asked about a connection between TO and Diamond did make it sound as though the letter definitively answered the question about a connection or lack thereof.  The need to "read between the lines" in order to get answers appears to be a common theme with this company at every level.

Generally I think that TO is a great food. I don't really have issues with it, with the exception of the customer service problems that I have heard about.

I have feed the Elk to my Coonhound, and he loved it. I was so impressed with it. My shop does not carry it, so I feed what I can get at a discount ie Innova, cal Nat Wellness ect

I think the issue that I have here is with certain members that act as representatives of TO and treat other members in a rude manner on a consistant basis. I am just floored at this behavior.

Other than that, if it became easier to order, if the responded to e-mails better ect I would feed it again. I am sure that they are working on this.

I know that this is just an internet forum, but I wonder how TO would respond to knowing that someone that is acting upon themselves as a rep of the company, (in any platform, face to face or online)is treating others with such rude behavior.

But honestly, doesn't every company do that? Companies, politicians, they all do that.

Does aflatoxin affect more than corn?

It sure does! It affects all grains. Corn, rice, wheat, peanuts. This statement came from this link: [linkhttp://www.wellvet.com/aflatoxins.html]http://www.wellvet.com/aflatoxins.html[/link]

Aflatoxins grow on grains and legumes mostly during storage, so the grains and legumes must be stored correctly to limit this problem. Some foods will be more likely to contain aflatoxins, so one might consider not feeding any of these foods to animals that have preexisting liver disease or other chronic disorders. These products include:
    • Peanuts
    • Whole grains
    • Nuts, especially older nuts (they taste stale), and those in grains
    • Non-human grade foods
    • Commercial diets that contain higher levels of cottonseed oil, fish meal, and peanut oil
    • Foods from countries that have substandard storage elevators for grains

All politicians?  Probably lol.  But all dog food companies?  No.  John Marsman from Eagle Pack has come onto this forum on numerous occasions and has given direct answers to specific questions.  I've gotten the same great results from EP with phone calls and emails as well.
