Who regulates TO??

I am so tired of answering questions about TO when ALL of the information is on the website.

    SO DON'T!

Do I assume correctly that this thread will not be merged with the "Quest for a Kinder and Gentler" thread?  [:D]

myorganicpets, Perhaps if you are concerned about Timberwolf's image and people "bad mouthing" them, as a "representative" of the company (And I use that term loosly) you should treat others on this forum with a bit of respect. Maybe then people would think more of the company.

As a retailer I would not actually have a client base if I behaved like that towards my potential customers.

If someone comes in with a question about natural food, I do not laugh at them, say that I am sick of answering questions and then direct them to the website for answers.
Is this what you do with all of your customers as well?

I think it was a valid question, and that is why we are all here, to learn from one another.

On your next thread that you start, should we all say that we are sick of answeing your questions and direct you to a website for answers?

I don't think that anyone else here has had their content remove for rude remarks but you.

myorganicpets, do you feed Timberwolf to your pets? I'm just curious since I saw another post you made today that said you'd purchased Chicken Soup for them.

sooner, I don't think you will get a reply to that one.

From someone who hasnt got TO available to them,i would feed it in a heartbeat! My dogs dont have any food allergies so the different kibbles in the bag wouldnt worry me,i'm assuming they would be other TO kibbles that slipped into the wrong bag.

I dont think i've heard one bad report about the actual food, everyone seems to have good results from feeding it to their dogs.If it's as good as people claim and dogs just love the stuff, the bad customer service,different/wrong bags  etc wouldnt bother me.The quality of the food and that my dogs  eat it would be the most important thing, all those other problems dont affect the food, only the customers buying it [;)] If the food is as exceptional as it sounds than all those other troubles would fade in the background.

I didn't read the whole thread, BUT FWIW, I won't buy ANYTHING that has an AAFCO seal on it. Animal testing, anyone?
    • Gold Top Dog
John, Did you ever receive the shipment you ordered from TO?
Jennie, Years ago, I used to look on the bag for the part about animal feeding tests and feel reassured that I was getting a good product, and didn't give any thought to how the dogs were treated. Now I know that all the AAFCO requires is about six months for a feeding test, and six of the eight dogs that started the test to finish it. I have seen pictures of beagles used for feeding tests housed in cages, and I would imagine they are in them 24-7, deprived of fresh air and exercise. It definitely bothers me now, and the dog food that I feed Jessie does not do feeding tests. Perhaps in the future the practice will be abolished.

    Pretty disgusting, isn't it?

It is really offensive to me to hear someone say that retailers (and I'll paraphrase), don't care about the details of a food, but only slap it on the shelf and sell it.
AS a retailer, I did alot of research before we decided which foods to carry in our business. TWO was on the top of my list of foods at the time, BUT the customer service issue alone was enough to turn me off it. Eagle Pack, OTOH, is a different ballgame. I have nothing but praise for the company, the customer service, and the product. They don't do "feeding trials" per se, but use real pets in real homes in real situations to see what works. They own their own manufacturing facilities, so they can control every aspect of their product.
Any company that would "use up old bags" by filling them with a product that is not intended for THAT bag,  is NOT to be trusted, IMO.  I don't think it's a fair statement to make to compare "fear-mongering" with genuine concern. I have said before, "A product is only as good as the company's customer service". If they are willing to cut corners to save a few dollars with packaging and what not, how can we be sure that they are not cutting corners on the products they are producing?
Sorry for my next statement (and hope I don't get my hands slapped for it), MyOP, you seem to have the same affinity for customer service as TWO with the attitude of not wanting to answer questions. You are suppose to be a representative for the company of the products you sell, but the "head in the sand" routine isn't working for TWO and doubt that it will work for you.

Well you assumed WRONG now, didn't you ? Why on earth wouldn't I answer that question.  I don't sell products that I wouldn't feed to my own pets.

    Darn! You got me!

I don't sell products that I wouldn't feed to my own pets either, but I sure do treat my customers (potential and existing) with the dignity and respect that they deserve. And I answer their questions with the best knowledge that I can offer, without being annoyed or sending them to a website because "I am sick of it."

Yeah it is Jenny, but I did try TO knowing they did animal feeding tests because the ingredients looked very impressive, only to stop feeding it when all the issues surfaced. I did feel guilty though and do not plan to buy food from another company that does the feeding tests. I guess we should imagine how we would feel if one of our dogs was kept in a cage for six months.
kennel_keeper, I have been feeding Jessie the Eagle Pack Holistic formulas for a year, except for the one with chicken because she is allergic to it. She's always had a lot of energy, but after starting on Eagle she had more energy, and although her coat looked good before, it became shinier. Their customer service is great; they always answer any question I have promptly. John Marsman once spent a lot of time with me on the phone talking about suggestions to help Jessie's allergies, such as washing her feet when she came in the house and putting an allergy filter in the furnace. He said if the lamb and rice formula didn't help her after six weeks, to call him again. They are proud of their products and they care about their customers.
