    Who regulates TO??

I was just looking on my bag of TO Wild and Natural dry, and there is nothing on there that says anything about being AAFCO regulated....or any regulations at all for that matter!? Anybody have any details on this? I'm not a big fan of the AAFCO, but if there is nobody regulating their food, the gauranteed analysis and ingredient list could be false...

I really hope someone jumps in here with some information. I have been extremely suspicious of Timberwolf and some of their practices for quite some time.

I see nothing wrong with people asking questions and voicing concerns.  This does not make them pot stirrers OR fear mongers.  And if you are that tired of answering questions, just don't.  Unless you see yourself as the guardian of this brand for some reason.

When in doubt, when you have a concern about a product, DON'T FEED IT until you are able to find answers that either confirm your suspicions or allay your fears.  There are plenty of top drawer foods out there.

Until you HAVE information, I wish you'd quit badmouthing TO.

I have all the information that I need.

I know that TO has horrible/nonexistant customer service.
I know that their packaging is inconsistent.
I know that their ingredient lists are inconsistant with the product packaged in the bags.
I know that I have received multiple bags with mixed kibble types in the bag.
I know that they changed their website ingredients while they were still selling old formulas.
I know that I have received bags without production codes or expiration dates.

Timberwolf Organics's pet foods are formulated to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles for all life stages and have met animal feeding tests using AAFCO procedures to substantiate that they provide complete and balanced nutrition for all life stages.

This does NOT say that they are AAFCO approved. This says that they meet AAFCO nutrient profiles and that they tested using AAFCO procedures.

AAFCO does not "regulate" anyone.  AAFCO is an advisory body that develops standards that are then recommended.  It is not a regulatory body and has no power to impose sanctions.

Perhaps you will find the info at this site helpful:  [linkhttp://www.fda.gov/fdac/features/2001/301_pet.html]http://www.fda.gov/fdac/features/2001/301_pet.html[/link]

At the risk of getting myself into trouble, I'll say... myorganicpets, this is certainly a different attitude from the same person that wrote the following in an e-mail to me

    edited: not worth it

I no longer feed TO, but since I have become convinced that they are not an honest company, I think that it's important that people who do feed it know everything about it so that they can make their own decision.

We'll see if I can explain this adequately .....

AAFCO does not typically go around approving or endorsing specific pet food manufacturers.  Basically, it is up to the manufacturer to be certain to be within AAFCO guidelines if that's what's stated on their labels.  If the manufacturer hasn't proven it's product is within AAFCO's standards, they must state on their label that their food is intended for intermittent feeding and make no claims to it's adequacy or as being balanced and complete.

Now, typically, State Department of Agriculture has to approve the label (meaning it's ingredients and nutrition information) based upon AAFCO standards and allowances and I believe this is suppose to be done by each state the food is allowed to be sold in, but, each state may vary.

Adequacy needs to be proven to the Dept. of Agriculture in the form of analytical laboratory testing and/or feeding trials as deemed acceptable in accordance to AAFCO guidelines.

    Did I make sense?

    And who would that be?

    TO does not answer questions.

You are somewhat knowledgeable, but your responses don't necessarily "match" with other distributors.

That's just one more suspicious thing about TO, they don't stand behind their product.

Voicing 'opinions' and 'concerns' is making a judgement based on facts and correct information

An opinion does not have to be based on facts at all.  And, if someone has a concern they have a right to post it, regardless of if you think it's rational or not.
