could really use some help

Charlie, I just found out last week about Yorkies and their teeth problems. When I brought Angel in my vet he had mentioned a few types of dogs that are more ;prone to bad oral  bacteria and require their teeth to be cleaned at least 2x's a year. With Angel I never had the opportunity to take care of her teeth and it is obvious that the people before me didn't care. Makes me so sad. I have 4 other dogs and I feel really mean giving them treats that she can't have. Maybe after her gums are all healed up I'll let her try to gum on a bully stick.

Sandra you make me laugh, you sound just like me.
On the 13th of July I had to take Shanti in for a double hernia repair, a spay and extraction of 8 teeth. $800.00 later I said that's it, no more furkids.
Two weeks later, in comes Angel and it was love at first sight. $1,500.00 later for all of the work she requires and I'm once again saying no more furkids.
My kids must think I'm a broken record[:D][:D][:D]
They just say, yah okay mom.

Thank you for the link agilebasenji.

    Thank you friends.
Baby Angel is home now, the Dr. didn't want to keep her over nite because he feels she has been through more than her share of emotional upsets with abandonment. She was happy beyond belief when she saw me.
Her blood panel came back perfect and that was such a relief. They have sent the lump out to be tested and I pray it comes back okay.
She only had to have 2 teeth removed, now she has a total of 8 left. They did the grafts on the K9s and were very please with the way it turned out. No more food and water going in her nose. Yeahhh. She seems to be breathing much easier and when I fed her it was the first time she didn't snort because no food was going into her sinus cavity. Yeahhh again.
She is very groggy and just wants to cuddle so I am gonna go and do just that.
Just need one more prayer please, that the lump is nothing but a lump.
    (((hugs))) to you all
    Lena

I came in late on the thread.  I want to say your girl is Gorgeous.  I am glad all went well with the surgery.  I will keep her in my prayers, so that the lump is not cancerous.

I am certainly happy that her surgery went just fine and I wish her a lot of happy, healthy years.  Also, that the lump is nothing more than a benign lump.

Hooray! I hope that she continues to do well, beyond your expectations[:D]

I just started to to read this... start to finish, I'm so glad she found you and you've done this for her.
I too join in hoping that "the lump is nothing more than a lump"
Sending lots of cuddles and skritches her way!

    ITS NOT CANCER.
Sorry for yelling but we just got the results in and Angels mammary tumor is benign.
I'm just on top of the world[:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]
Dr. Blackburn said that this is a good thing but we have to keep a careful eye on her in case more develop, he said that the report said that she is primed(???) to possibly get more. Need an explanation on this.
Anyway, I just had to let you all know and say that "The powers of forum dogs prayers" have again been heard.
    HAPPY, HAPPY, JOY, JOY
    Love this Angel of mine[;)]

    SheltieGirl,
We are doing pretty good with the housebreaking. She has her pee pads set up in the spare room and uses them when needed. We still have a few booboo's on the floors though. I know it is going to be a long haul but what the heck, floors can be replaced. I have ordered up a 2'x3' doggie litter box and I would really like to get her trained to use it before winter since they do now go outside in the cold. If you have any tips on how I can accomplish this, I would love to hear them.
    Thanks

I found this little bit on the internet about litterbox training...

    [linkhttp://dog-litter-box.dogs-central.com/train.htm]http://dog-litter-box.dogs-central.com/train.htm[/link]

What help me housetrain diego...when he started to pee I'd say "EH, EH" or clap. This stopped him from urinating and I'd scoop him up and take him outside (and say "Let's go Out"). They say to leash and walk them. He was not even 4 lbs, couldn't manuever the stairs, and barely leashed trained. So, whatever works!

I was really on top of housetraining. We live in apartment and didn't want him peeing everywhere! So i took him out as soon as he ate, played, chewed, ect. I realize your dog is an adult so it's different of course.

Oh, and btw...I never reprimanded him for peeing. You have to teach a dog to pee outside and until they "get it" there is really no reason to scold them. It will really just scare them and make them hide to pee (that will make it so much harder!). And make her feel like the best dog on earth for going potty where she is supposed to! Treats/praise ect...

If he did it now, however, I'd say "No!" though.
