ekk..i have a hard time keeping my opinions too myself when it comes to what I think people should be feeding..whenever im at petsmart, my boyfriend usually has to drag me away from the food section... im sorry, i belive in what i belive in, ANY kibble is crap in MY honest opinion, and i find it hard not to want to go and lecture people on canine nutriton. like i've said a thousand times, im not a fan of any kibble, so seeing people feed the extreme crap kibbles like kibbles n bits or ole roy, is the WORST....."yum yum! Preformed grain ;pellets!!! and when you add water you get 'gravy'! Oh! and dont forget that big fat helping of sugar, dyes, additives, and preservatives that comes with it!!!" Wouldnt you LOVE to eat that??.. i think not, i know i certainly wouldnt.. so why the hell would we feed it to our precious dogs??

Well that sounds like a darn good approach if you are looking to alienate the person you're trying to educate.

But i'm not trying to make friends[:D] I've lost count on how many people have put the bag back on the shelf(probably to go pick it up again once i'm out of sight LOL).You have to hit the stubborn ones in the heart,if everytime they pour that food in their dogs bowl they think of that loony lady at the supermarket who made the full on impression, hopefully soon the guilt will get the better of them! I'm talking ofcourse of the small, tiny handful of people who just stand and stare at me mouth agape trying to digest my ramblings, thankfully these are few and far between, the majority want to know more and sometimes we'll stand and talk for ages and have a really good convo. The opening lines are the most important, you need to get their attention in that first minute,or else you've lost them. Some people dont have time or patience to wait around and listen to the softly, softly hint hint approach,i like to get right to the matter at hand and that is how bad the food is and what it could possibly be doing to their companions!!

Personally,if it was the other way around and someone came up to me and told me the bag of beneful that i thought was so good was utter crap and why,i would be very grateful and appreciative they would take the time to talk to me about someone elses dog that had nought to do with them!
I also do the leaflet drop.I have become friends with the owner of the natural pet shop i go to and she printed up a whole lot of leaflets that briefly go into natural feeding, whats in some of the 'popular' brand foods etc etc, very short, brilliant and to the point.I drop these in peoples carts when they're not looking [;)] They get a free treat for their dog if they bring it into the shop with them, most people cant resist a freebie, which brings them in and then she does the rest..

I think you meant to say "aren't that different"

Yeah you're right Ron,i knew that sounded wrong! I havnt had one person yet tell me to shove my opinions! Perhaps it comes across different when it;s in the written word, but i do say it in a caring way, because i DO care, otherwise i wouldnt bother, and hopefully most people can tell what my motives are.I dont stand an inch away from them screaming that they're killing their dogs,or talk in amean condesecending way.The way i do it seems to be working,so i will continue to hi-jack ol roy and beneful feeders at every opportunity [:)]
