Taste of the Wild

Ugh, since this whole Diamond thing (and previous issues with their quality control) I've just completely switched my dogs from anything made by Diamond.  I used to use both the Naturals and the TOTW.

Now I'm feeding California Naturals Grain Free (not because P&G is necessarily better, but it's one of the very few grain-free foods that doesn't also contain potatoes, which I'm trying to eliminate because one of my dogs gets yeasty allergies).

My cats are still on the TOTW.  I don't know what I'm going to switch them to yet, but I'm almost definitely going to switch them soon.

 I was not aware of any of this!  I feed TOTW to both the 5 dogs and the 10 cats.  I buy once a month.  Will have to figure out what to do next.

BTW, I think Nutrisca is also potato free.

TOTW has not been recalled....its fine......just that we have to wonder how soon before they ship again.

I've been looking at Nutrisca (heard very good things!) but the only place within 50 miles of me that sells it is WAY WAY out of my way :(  At least I can get the CA Naturals at a couple different feed stores on my way home.

Maybe I'll call them up though and find out if there's any way they can start orering the Nutrisca for me.  I'd definitely be willing to give it a try!

I didn't know about this!  I'm still working on a huge bag of TOTW that I got with a Groupon, so I haven't tried to buy any in a few weeks.  If I see some at the pet supply store where I get Layla's food, I will pick up another bag just in case.

When I picked up the Canidae from PSP two weeks ago they had one other bag...I might go get it just in case.  They order it in for me but someone messed up and two people ordered it so they had an extra bag....wonder if anyone else might have bought it.    Don;t know why they don't order Beef and Fish to sell in the store, they said they don't beccause corporate didn't tell them to.

Precise has two new, grain free, potato free formulas. Instinct and Darford's Zero G are potato free, too. Bean is currently eating Instinct. Every grain free I tried made her super skinny, but she looks awesome, on this. I guess potato doesn't agree with her. I want to try the Precise grain frees with her, when she goes back on kibble.

 At this point, I find it very hard to trust any foods associated with Diamond. There are lots of other quality foods out there with a better track record than Diamond.

Well that's great     My mom told me Jetta threw up last night and she couldn't figure out why. She feeds her ToTW and just bought a new bag a few days ago.

awww.. Very sorry to hear that    I hope she will be ok. Your Mom should contact them ASAP and of course stop the TOTW!

 Well I personally know 2 families with sick pets and  eat TOTW.. Coincidence?  Maybe.. but why take the chance. I surely am not all knowing and am in no position to tell anyone else what to do. I am just a petlover and thought I would post any info I felt may help someone.  I hope your right and no pets get ill. I would love it!! Hope All Our Pets Stay Healthy And Safe!

If I were in Jetta's shoes... it wouldnt hurt to contact TOTW and at least temporarily stop feeding TOTW until they can verify the safety of the bag.
