My only issue is the price, but I don't really have any cheap options where I live so I'm stuck with paying $76 for 30lbs.

HOLY CRAP!!  No dog food companies shipping to your area?  I pay $48 for the 30lb bag

I rotate, but mainly TOTW - all my dogs do well on it.   I no longer feed any of the Natura products since P&G bought them:-(

Most of our guys are raw fed.  It's simple, easy, & cost effective.  They also do really well on raw.

In addition to raw, Cher gets a meal of Precise Endurance during the middle of the day.  She likes it, & it works really well as her "training" meal.

Brutus can't handle raw, so he usually eats Honest Kitchen. (rotating formulas)  Last week, I switched him over to Artisan's, Grandma Lucy's mix.  He's a very picky eater, but so far, knock on wood, he LOVES this.

They also get toppers, which usually consists on whatever I grab, toss into the pressure cooker, & cook to oblivion.  Smile

awesome - thanks guys! I'm going to check out the store this afternoon, and see what they've got. I looked on their website, so I know they have the TOTW. I'll see about the natural balance too!

Fingers crossed that they've got something [reasonable] that works for Benny!

Currently they're getting a raw diet. 50% ground rmbs (chicken, pork usually) adn the rest is a mixture of ground meat (beef, turkey), cooked and purreed veggies (whatever I have on hand) yogurt and kelp.  Fish oil as a supplement.

Had bloodwork done on Lexi and Darby and it was all within normal ranges.

Otherwise, they also do well on THK (only drawback to that is the larger stool from all the fiber) and Acana Pacifica.

ETA I have added back a small small amount of grains, as the bichon girls are having poop issues.  Lots of straining and discomfort trying to poo.  Added back about a teaspoon for them and a tablespoon for Echo and the pooping is going a lot easier.

Lexi was holding it in because it must have been uncomfortable, which was causign her gassy tummy and just general unhappiness. She's been much happier lately! :)

Jetta is still on TOTW because that is the ONLY line she can eat with her allergies. She also gets a ton of fresh veggies, fruit, yogurt, and homecooked food mixed in.

Piper is currently on By Nature Adult kibble. She does well with most foods, so I switch hers around for variety.

My two normals are on Precise Foundation. Jewel is on homemade food, because she is special in so many ways. She was on The Honest Kitchen Keen, but started having some more serious health issues, so she's now on a very bland diet.

Feeding Fromm 4 Star, but still looking for another option.

Ripley is on Acana Sport & Agility. He'd had a hard time gaining and maintaining weight, and so after trial and error, we finally found this food which he does fantastic on in all aspects.

Keira is on Acana Pacifica. It smells really bad (overpoweringly fishy), but she thrives on it! Fish protein seems to be the only thing that doesn't upset her stomach and hive her out.

Dance rotates between Acana Grasslands and Acana Wild Prairie. She does really well on either or, so after a while on one formula, I switch to the other just because. Although I must say, her breath is better on the poultry (Wild Prairie) than the lamb (Grasslands) for whatever reason.

All of them also get luke warm water in their kibble to make it more palatable and I feel it helps with digestion. It also cuts down on the amount of water they drink during the day. Sometimes I put plain yogurt on top too for a treat.

I'd fed raw in the past, but I didn't find it very cost effective at all nor space effective. I also didn't see any benefits, aside from whiter teeth, and Dance's coat (her chest and paws in particular) always smelled like raw meat to me (which was gross). So alas, we switched completely to kibble with the exception of some RMBs here and there and they're all doing great.

    thanks everyone!

I picked up a bag of TOTW.... it cheaper than the BB and Wellness.... so I'm THRILLED there! I'll drop it off at my moms... fingers crossed this works for him!

I think I'm going to switch Casey and Dahlia too - since the cost is much better, for better!

I think you'll be happy with the results of TOTW.  My crew have been eating it for a long while now...with excellent results.  I made the switch because Heidi was very itchy as well.  Cleared that right up...

For the dogs, they get the TOTW kibble with a variety of TOTW canned toppers.  The cats get the TOTW fish kibble.  Very affordable.

ooh - I didn't even think about trying the cats on it - thanks! They will be out soon... I think I'll grab a bag for them too!

I tried the petsmart Authority with them, they're doing well, but price vs. quality - I think TOTW is going to be much better!

    We feed Fromm.

But just a question about the itchies...are you certain they are food related?

I have an allergy dog that is getting desensitization injections for environmental allergies...we had her tested and she is allergic to a variety of things from grasses to molds and dust mites. Her dermatologist said that only 10% of canine allergies are food related.

This article backs that up and is an interesting read (just something to consider):

Both of my dogs are eating Wellness right now. We tried Acana puppy and Orijen puppy with Lilith but she had very runny poop on both. But on Wellness its completely normal looking and Skyline is actually doing good on Wellness too (shes a picky eater). I do plan on going back to Acana to try Pacifica food when Lilith is older though.
