Echo tummy woes

Kefir is a dairy beverage. It's like a super yogurt. TONS of probiotics. Very good for the tummy!

Callie- the vet I chose is on the list :)  Thank you for the link!

DH says let's wait and see.  Definitely will stop giving her so much extra stuff/variety.   Going to take her off the chicken THK and try the beef one for a while.

Got to run, talk later!  Thanks to all for the help and ideas!

The beef one is not designed for puppies!!  That's actually the formula that didn't agree with Kes and I think it's because it's sooo high in grains.  If you're going to switch, why not try Preference?  That way you can customize it *and* it's designed for use with pups.  Preference is the only food we've tried with Kes that he could go cold turkey onto.

If I was in your shoes I'd try to just change one thing at a time so you can pinpoint what works and what doesn't more easily.  You could stick with the same food and add the probiotics first, then try adding pumpkin, then switch the food, etc. giving each change at least a week to see if the change helps or not.

(btw Callie, THK is unique in that their chicken is certified free-range and antibiotic-free and all their ingredients are human grade and non-GMO. Doesn't change the inflammatory nature of the protein, but it does minimize the yuckiness factor found in most chicken. Smile)

I talked with Echo's breeder who thought she was just about at her adult height/weight.  Then I spoke with Kat at THK who said feeding increased amounts of the other food would probably be ok.

Now... this morning, the poop was nice and solid- I fed my own beef/veg/grain mix plus prozyme last night.

The reason I don't do preference is I just do not have that much room in the tiny frige we have to keep meat thawed.  It is a crazy tiny frige! Rentals. Bleh.

I think I will keep with the Thrive but not add so much variety for a while and see how it goes.

    AHA!!

I just found a 2lb bag of newmans' own dog treats EMPTY in the back of Echo's crate.  I know she must have eaten the entire thing as I just bought that bag.  She is very sneaky so I suspect she must've grabbed the bag when I was putting away groceries.  (I put the bags on the floor and then sort/put away).

Now that definitely would not help a tummy feel good!!
