Good, Bad, Ugly Food List

Thanks, Rebecca. I think the Missing Link has that in it. But, in my layman's opinion, Nutro has changed how they do the oils and proteins. They used to have a healthy dose of linoleic acid and think that was good for him. They may have changed the percentage or where it falls in the formula or they may have added something else that interferes with that. He does best on simple food with a meat-first formula, that I can surmise. The missing link has helped.

Ron, I used to feed this to Jessie and the amount of linoleic acid is the same, but they've added pea protein which means there probably isn't as much lamb. They've also added soybean oil, which I don't remember in the old formula; maybe that has something to do with the difference you've noticed in Shadow?

You are probably right and that make sense. The formula name may be the same, but it's not exactly the same formula. And yes, I've no doubt that they have shuffled the ingredients around and made cheaper substitutions to maximize profit since they have been owned by Mars food co. The old formula had more lamb meal in it, I think. I do know that lamb is high in linoleic acid. I was telling our vet about this today and it seemed to make sense to him.
