    Finally found Orijen 6 fish....

locally, and best of all, found the smallest bag, this way I can try it out before spending a fortune.

Going to mix it with Cal lamb/rice and see how Rivers does...

That's awesome!  I've had nothing but wonderful results with that formula.

When we adopted Sammy, his coat was dull, he had patches of hair missing and ugly brown dead hair in places under his black coat...after a couple weeks of transitioning him from the crap food I was forced to buy that they had fed him in the shelter (not that I blame them, they take what they can get), he looks and acts like a totally different dog.

Mr Sensitive Stomach (Harry), did shockingly well during the transition to this from Natural Balance.  No vomiting, no loose stools, and he's maintained a really nice weight with the Orijen fish.  He weighed 6 pounds too much when on NB, but he's down to 60 pounds and I don't worry anymore about if he's getting too chunky, lol.

And keep k9cuisine.com in mind.  Free shipping over $50!  If Rivers does well on it, you can order it online from them.  A 29.7 pound bag more than exceeds the $50 free shipping requirement.  Might be worth comparing prices to where you buy it locally anyway.  When I was researching, no one near me could match their price, and I always get my orders from k9cuisine within 2-3 days.

Good luck, and let us know how Rivers does on this one...I've got my fingers crossed for ya.

Thanks....you know, this formula doesn't smell as fresh as the chicken-based formula always did.

Hmmm, I don't remember what the regular adult formula smelled like...I only bought one bag of it once.  But the fish formula definitely smells strongly of fish, which might explain that.  My boys have never gotten fishy breath from it, tho, thank goodness.

If it smells rancid, tho, you might have gotten a bad bag.  It happens with these better foods sometimes, if air gets to it too much.  If you're worried about it, maybe you could take the bag back to the store and ask the people there if they think it smells different than it should.
