    Royal Canin prescription food

I have an almost 5 year old cocker spaniel with severe food allergies.  He's currently eating Hills Prescription ultra z/d canned food and with permission from his vet, I wanted to add the Royal Canin Prescription Potato and Rabbit Dry Formula.  I give him a snack at night before bed (hills prescription) and wanted to give him some dry food, for variety and financial reasons (the cans are about $3 each).

What is your honest opinion about the Royal Canin Potato and Rabbit Dry Formula that I listed below?

    Thanks,

    Michelle

It doesn't look bad at all to me.

They're made in a dedicated factory, last I heard. No glutens even enter the facility. I have a case of the cans, for Emma emergencies:) Ena can eat anything, but Emma cannot.

Okay, thanks for this info.  I feel better about this now.  I'm always nervous about starting new dog foods.  Jennie, what kind of cans do you keep on hand?

    Thanks,

    Michelle

I would prefer this over the z/d if I had a dog on allergy foods.

The Royal Canin (used to be IVD) rabbit. It's very nice. I usually make her food, but we live very near the Ga coast, so we occasionally evcuate for a hurricane. I take the canned food, in case we have to be gone a while, there's no power, and her food spoils.

When I talked to Royal Canin they said the rabbit only comes in dry.  Do you have a link for the canned rabbit?  I'd love to check out the canned rabbit.

     Thanks,

    Michelle

I can't find it. Maybe they've stopped making it. My vet always carried it..... I've had the cans I have for over a year. Gosh, maybe even two.

I can't find any of the limited diets in cans, on Royal Canin's site. Emma doesn't tolerate dry food. It's a little sad, if they've quit making it. I'll ask my vet, next time I'm there.

Yes, I think they did stop making the rabbit cans.  I'm not sure about the others...it is a shame because I'd like to try it if it came in wet.

    Take care,

    Michelle

    Much better than z/d IMO.
