    Agility Brag!!

So Kota needed 1 Gamblers Q in Level 2 USDAA for his Level 2 title.  We tried PII Gamblers this past weekend for the first time since getting our PG1 in December.  It was also our first trial in PIII (Level 3 USDAA aka Masters level).  The day went with PIII Jumpers first, then PIII Snooker and then PII Gamblers.  I was worried that he wouldn't have enough energy for his Gamblers run and that was the only one I was hoping for a Q in.

We ran Jumpers and despite me, we Q'd with a 2nd place!  Wow, what a feeling to Q first time out in Masters!  It took us 2 years to finishe Level 1 (PI)!!  Then was Snooker, one of our favorite games.  We almost made it through number 7 but still finished with 40 points and another Q and 2nd!  I was so happy and proud of my boy! He was a little distracted in Snooker but he was still running well and fast, just like in Jumpers.

Then Gamblers.  The gamble was to go over a jump, turn left and go out to the teeter with me about 12 feet away.  Then continue on to a jump.  We'd tried a gamble similar to this before and he didn't go out to the teeter so I was concerned.  We planned our course well and got to the gamble just at the buzzer so perfect timing.  I sent him over the jump, he turned naturally as I said teeter and he went up and over.  He turned in towards me a bit after that but I was running and said jump and over he sailed!!!  Whooo hoooo!!!!  A Q, a 1st and our Level 2 title!

We've come such a long way!  Big Smile

Congratulations!  Especially on the Q in your first Masters run, that's a big deal!

My local club is going to give USDAA trials a try -- we have to do two sanctioned fun matches before we can have a "real" trial and the first one is at the end of the month.  I'm looking forward to giving it a shot!  Mostly I think it will be fun to get to play on equipment that NADAC doesn't use.  Luke loves chutes and teeters.  The slatted equipment, not so much....
