Happy dogs!

    Happy dogs!

How to get a extremely happy Lab, and a happy lil' Sh!t(I mean, Shih Tzu!)!

1 - buy bag of Diamond Natural, Lamb and Rice formula.
2 - mix with current bag Diamond Maintanice to prevent tummy upset
3 - buy a roll of Natural Balance Lamb formula, chop into kibble-sized chunks.
4 - scoop food into doggie bowls, add in NB.
5 - add hot water, let sit for 5 mins to cool
    6 - SERVE!!!

    ..............................

LOL! My puppers are sooo happy right now! I haven't seen Taz eat like this since we switched off the KnB(and he's the family hog!), and Sam actually *snapped* at his "girlfriend"(Isabelle) who he normally shares with. I was schocked at his snapping.....but, it's not plain old boring food now, but it's understandable.

Remember not to use super hot water, never hotter than you can touch comfortably.  They coat the kibble with the nutrients that aren't heat stable so exposing it to really hot water defeats the purpose of that - LOL!  Natural Balance rolls do rock.  I used to use them for training all the time.  They smelled good enough for me to eat.  Then again, there isn't much that fails to smell good enough to eat, to me, unfortunately.

    Try this one:

Get a can of green tripe (you can get Tripett from K9 Cuisine).  Open it, put about a tablespoon per dog in a baggie, repeat until the can is gone.  Leave one baggie out, and freeze the rest.

Next mealtime, divide the tripe amongst your dogs. That teeny bit is enough.  Pour over some warm (not hot) water.  No need to soak.  Put down the bowls and STEP BACK - I wouldn't want you to get trampled!  :)

Now watch them devour their food and then sit and lick the bowls for about an hour afterwards.

I don't put thee water in it too hot, just enough to give it some warmth. I let it sit anyway, just in case it is to hot, I dont need burnt tounges!

I haven't seen K9 Cuisine around.....the store I got the NB from sells, Eukanuba(both origions and natural), Science Diet(yuk!), Purina Pro Plan, Bil-Jac, Wellness, Wellness Core, Merrik, Natural Balance, they always have a bag of Benniful too.....

The other store I like sells smaller bags of Diamond, Eukanuba, EVO(yay! its soooooooo pricey thou), and another one that I can't remember.

Petsmart sells Bil-Jac, Authority, Eukanuba, Purina, Alpo, Blue, Science Diet, Royal Canina, and a few others....

Oh, and Taz's groomer sells Solid Gold.

HA! I think htey smell like those meat rolls you get around the holidays! My mom was like.....'did you wrap it up?? is it gonna stink up my fridge??" I was like.....only if you think swiss colony meat logs smell bad!

See, that's what I think of too.  I love those things way too much - I seriously need adult supervision around sausage rolls (PEOPLE food ones LOL), especially if there's some sharp cheese and crackers lying around somewhere too.

I may need some counseling.  How does the conversation always turn to what *I* want to eat?  Wink

K9 Cuisine is an online dog supply that specializes in premium/holistic foods.  They have free shipping on orders over $50 though as some have pointed out, their prices aren't competitive with most local brick and mortar stores.  But for someone like me, it's worth it as I have to drive 40 to 100 miles to get some of the brands they carry.  I mean, back when I needed commercial foods.  And I still keep cases of Tripett around.

Solid Gold makes a canned food called Green Cow. It comes in 5.5 oz cans, which are just  right (it also comes in standard, 13.2 oz cans). It's green tripe with potato, I think. Disgusting enough that the dogs adore it.

Thanks Jennie! We don't go to the groomer often, but, next time we do - I'll check it out!
