You have to teach him to "take it nice." When I encounter a snatcher (Luke can get this way if too excited), I enclose the treat in my fist. I then offer my fist to the dog and tell him to "take it nice." When the dog sniffs my fist I work the treat up to the opening between my thumb and finger and present a portion of it to the dog. When the dog GENTLY grasps the treat in his teeth, I release the treat and tell him good boy. If the dog trys to snatch the treat too aggressively just close your hand and take it away before trying again.
