Macaroons?

    Macaroons?

I know this will seem stupid to some, but I tried to make coconut macaroons for BF today and I made three batches, and none turned out!  They seemed to go very liquidy while baking, and each time i tweaked the recipe just a bit to see if it would work, and they didn't!  BF still ate some from the last batch which turned out *almost* there, but they still weren't right

    any hints?

She finally sent the recipe to me....

1 pkg. Sweetened shredded coconut, divided (14 oz.)¼ c all-purpose flour¼ c sugar¼ c light corn syrup¼ c cream of coconut (such as Coco Casa or Coco Lopez)3 egg whites2 T. unsalted butter, melted1 t. vanilla extractPinch of salt Shape dough around:  32 chocolate kisses with almonds (or any other kind of kisses will do) -Mince 1 ½ c. of the coconut in a food processor.  Transfer minced coconut to a bowl.-Add the remaining coconut to the minced coconut along with the other ingr. except for the kisses.Mix gently with your hands until combined, then chill the dough for at least 1 hour and up to 24 hrs.-Shape a heaping tablespoon of dough around a chocolate kiss, enclosing the candy completely.  Arrange the cookies on a prepared baking sheet, spacing 1” apart.-Bake until firm and deep golden at the base and light golden on top, about 16 – 18 min.

Sorry, I copied and pasted the recipe but it was easier to read with the ingredients in list form......sure didn't turn out that way.
