    Pet food comparison wizard

I read your whole thread on homecooking, it was long! I commend those of you who do it successfully, I'm just not dedicated enough and it's too much of a time committment. We've fed California Natural for many years, switching to Canidae sometimes when our wallets are hurting. Anyway, I didn't realize they are a Natura brand and I didn't know what the other Natura brands were. Their website has a pet food comparison wizard that is kind of cool because you can look at the ingredients in quite a few different brands, wet, dry, dog & cat. What I like about California Natural is that there are a minimal number of ingredients and the only preservative is rosemary. Here is the website, I didn't know how to make it a hot link though:

Thanks for reminding us.  I used to use that website all the time.  I haven't fed Innova in a few years because of the cost going up so bad.

Yes, there was a time we had 4 dogs and 3 of them were big. We were going through dog food painfully fast and couldn't afford Cal Natural for quite a while. I think it's a neat tool though. What a convenient way to look up the ingredients in different brands.

I hear ya!  I have SIX german shepherds.  The formula for Blue Buffalo is quite similar to Innova, which I like because of the varied ingredients, but it's about 20 bucks cheaper for  30 lb bag.  Still, I buy a 30 lb bag each and every week.
