I went to our local PetCo last night for the first time in a LOOOOOONG time. I haven't been there since I started buying dog food at the "premium specialty shops" and have been going to PetSmart for treats and stuff (no good reason other than it's a bit handier to get to).
I have to say, I'm impressed with their food selection now. It's far superior to PetSmart's, which I checked out the last time I was there. They've got Natural Balance, Wellness & Solid Gold -- all at MUCH lower prices than the specialty shops I've been buying from for the last few years. The bag of NB fish & sweet potato that I picked up last night was $39.99 --- that's over $10 cheaper a bag than what I've been paying!
Barking at the Moon was $55, if I recall, and Wellness Core was $59.
I think I might be shopping there more often.
They were having an obedience class while I was there -- I don't know why people waste their money on classes at these stores. They were all huddled into a gated-off circle of perhaps 15' in diameter. What a horrid learning environment. That said, the instructor was not nearly as horrifying as those I've heard in the past. She sounded like she had half a clue!
