    is this balanced food..? (K-9 Kraving)

    I found a distributor on our craiglist who is selling this food for cheap.  http://www.k-9kraving.com/  Does the company sound Ok?  I want to try some of their raw food. Thanks

     I'm curious to see if it is. It looks good and after watching the video, I kinda want to try it. Lol

    It looks really good.  They appear to have balanced it out though I do see what standards they use - you'd have to email and ask.

    I'm not a huge fan of companies who put a lot of veggies in a raw meat product but I know lots of people are willing to pay for the convenience.

    The only thing that makes me go "hm" is how they emblazon "USDA Inspected" all over their web site like it's a big deal.  There are a few extra steps, but a friend who is thinking of starting her own processing facility for locker beef, was just telling me last night how easy it was to get the license and how basic the regs are.  Not that the regs allow crazy stuff, but it only takes a slight upgrade over common sense stuff you would do in your own kitchen.

    If that's the main selling point for you, and you don't need the balance, plants and facilities that sell meat are not all that hard to find.  I took some sheep today down to a place that sells assorted goat parts for $2 a pound.  Beef was cheaper though I have forgotten it now because I didn't pay that much attention - I'm getting a locker beef in the spring.

     I think they balance it according to AAFCO standards;  http://www.k-9kraving.com/pages/food.html;

    K-9 Kraving is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for all life stages

     It looks like a good food to me.
