    Any juicers in here?

I've just recently starting juicing again.  I've read that saving the pulp is a good idea and can be used in breads and other things.  Seems like the dogs could benefit from the pulp.  In my kitchen, right now...I have about a cup of mostly carrot pulp with some spinich pulp.  Any reason why I shouldn't give them some of it?

Go forit! It's a great sourceof both soluble (probiotic) and insoluble (colon conditioning) fiber. Plus some nutrients along for the ride.

I give it to the dogs, all the time.... it's part of the reason I splurged on the juicer (I feed raw :o)  I loooove it.  I juice lots of things.. and they get the remnants with some yogurt.

My staples are: Spinach, carrots, parsley and apple/pear. Sometimes chard or other leafy greens.

I also add other seasonal fruit when available.  I am just careful with the citrus.  I'll add a touch of lemon to bring out the flavor in berries or part of an orange, but if the dogs are getting the pulp I go easy on the citrus.

    Yay for juicing! :)

and btw - they prefer it when I add berries.  Logan would do a back handspring for a strawberry :o) LOL

Thanks both!  This citrus comment makes me just a bit nervous.  Why do I need to be concerned with their citrus intake?  I treat them most mornings with several pieces of frozen tangelo each.  Tongue Tied

I am learning new things here every minute!!! SO dogs are ok to have oranges, tangerines, lemons? Citrus fruits?

Oh, I wouldn't worry about citrus in general, but in larger quantities (so I've read, anyway) it can maybe cause problems, just due to it's acidity.  I give my dogs bites of orange all the time and as long as there is not more than an orange or two juiced I still give them remnants.  Sorry to make you worry!
