Training vid: Scout trying to be Zippity

I posted before I left for the Crown Classic Dog show where I am at now. I have been watching mostly the agility aspect of the show since my instructor is the host for all 4 days. Word team members are there as well. I have them on tape will upload them soon.

Anyhow... .. Scout is trying - or I am trying my best to get him to - to copy my instructor's dog, Zippity who I believe is 'the' fastest BC in the weave poles. I know that she is faster than Mayhem.....

Mind you this is 9 poles. I can fit 12 in the room but the camera would have to move. Big Smile

Those are very, very nice weaves!!  Scout has really nice rhythm and speed & you should be proud!

Please tell me more about your weave base -- Is it separated into sections of three?  I couldn't really tell until Scout knocked the one out of alignment, but still couldn't get a good look.  They look really nice (and perfect for indoor training!).

Wow, Scout did great. It didn't appear to tire him out at all, but I was exhausted just from watching Wink

    Hi Karissa!

They are 3.5" base. Each 6 pole section has the base in two sections. I only ran scout with 9 poles because of the camera. I got them from my instructor, Denise at Countrysideagility.com. Her poles and equipment are used at AKC and USDAA events around here (NY, PA, OH, KY, WV) There are provisions for stakes.

12 poles with 3.5" base is 190 and for 2" base is 160 if I recall. Spacing is either 20" or 21". I think mine are at 20.5". Check her website.

Like all Jacks, they don't tire easily! =) I can easily overwork them. I am proud of Scout's weaves, he really drives hard through them for a small dog. I had hope Chloe's drive to increase but sadly she is definitely a "soft" dog. I can live with that. Anyhow, I saw nail scratches on the base after running him. I want to time him on grass and see how far behind he is to Zippity. You'll see vid footage of Zippity from this past IX dog show where Denise, Barb Brooks, Linda M, Susan Crank, Jenn Crank and some other fast dogs where there once I upload them. ALL of the dogs were at their limit as the 4th day came.
