Yeah, I've been shopping at a couple of the consignment shops, and Goodwill, around here. I've had GREAT luck with Goodwill. One day, I got 3 suits that look GREAT with my dog and fit me well, from there. They had to be from the same person....

I don't think it'll be dorky to dress Christmassy. The red scarf will help highlight Nikon's coloring. I have a gold suit that I like to wear with Ena, to help bring out the gold in her ears and tail. That would look pretty nice against a GSD too.

12 shows in 14 days would be exhausting and SO MUCH FUN! I always hate leaving.... We were so not happy about leaving Savannah early. We were having a good time in the mud, but there was water just standing under the tent. You should have seen the poor Bichon in group, on Saturday. Ugh. I felt terrible for the dog and the handler. MY dog is easy to wash up and fluff, LOL. That gorgeous, curly coat..... I can't imagine it was much fun getting the sticky mud out.

Gosh no, the judges enjoy it as long as you don't go waaaay overboard.  For Halloween I have these insane spider pins made from large jingle bells and metal legs with beads.  I pop one on my shoulder way up out of the way of the line of sight for the dog and it always makes the judge laugh.

I have some awesome Christmassy cardigans from Liz Claiboune and Anne Taylor ( thank the Stars we live about 1/2 hour from a gated community with a Salvation Army!)  With Black slacks and the brighter tops my dogs really pop out.  I have noticed while it won't make you when if you have a crummy dog it sure helps to be easy to find in a huge number and large ring.

I never dress for gender judges. If a guy neeeds to see cleavage go to Hooters.  I see newbies do that a lot... And I never dress down for a woman judge, over dressing is just as tacky so I find that look that works for me and I go with it.

Perfume and jewlery haven't really been mentioned but NOTHING rolls my stomach more than overwhelming perfumes or colognes...  The judges are not pleased by them since it is drawing attention away from the dog and focusing it on you.  Jewlery that clacks and clicks and falls down in the dog's face when you are stacking it is pretty silly too...

Oh, gosh.... I don't wear perfume. Dogs hate it! I don't wear much jewelery, either. Just a pin or something pretty small. My dog is carried around the show grounds, LOL. I don't wear anything that would catch her feet, coat, or skin. I'm sure the bigger dogs appreciate it, too, if you're hugging on them. I took in an ACD for someone, on Friday, and I'm sure she was happy that I wasn't wearing anything pokey when I was squishing her, ringside, LOL.

I am a guy showing, so its a bit different. But this is my show stuff. I have a nice grey sport coat a nice dark tweed/twill/ ? sport coat. A white shirt, a couple of plain blue and blue striped shirts, a pink shirt and about 6 ties. I have four or five pairs of pants. All dark colors, black charcoal, dark blue, etc. Black dress shoes with rubber grip soles. I like the dark pants for two reasons. My dog stands out against them (although I in most cases work in front of him)  Plus dark colors do not show dog prints.

When Dess's breeder was campaigning Dess's mother, she wanted to stand out from the pros.  If you showed in the midwest area (essentially east of the Mississippi, the River as it is commonly known) you might have seen the lady in WHITE.  Yup dressy white clothes.  It must have worked a bit (plus her grooming, training etc).  Nika was back to back group 1s.  At the times, Belgians rarely made the cut in the group.  She would have two outfits so she could switch to something clean for the group ring.  She bought all her show clothes at the end of the season clearances.
