What I did with Belle that seems to work well for her is, I have her on a harness attached to her leash. Attached to her leash is a rope, slightly longer than her leash and that is attached to a prong collar. I call it my "air brakes". IF she were to try to go after something while biking, I can easily grab the rope and put tension on the prong collar. She feels that and returns to proper bike manners. The rope attached to her prong is not tight unless I take a hold of it.
Belle is great next to the bike, however once this summer she flipped me. Once in 2+ years is pretty good in my book. However I realized I can't risk a second time so I concocted this method. She has a ton of respect for the prong and I have not needed to use it. She just knows it is on.
