Last weekend we went to a practice hunt test. Trudy did extremely well, pointed two birds, held her point through the gun shot (we let her chaise the flushed bird) and listened to her mom when called back in. Grace had to be on a check cord, but showed lots of natural talent - too bad she's a big runner.
They also had CGC testing there. We had signed up because I think that Grace would be a good therapy dog. We were very nervous because it was held outside. However, probably because they were so tired from the field work, they passed with flying colors.
Trudy has her UKC - CD and a couple legs of her AKC - CD. tje CGC is a whole different story. I think a dog could easily get a CD title and totally blow the CGC. The thing that I was most worried about with Trudy is that she doesn't like to be away from Mom and will fuss if held by a strange person. I guess most of the people at the CGC test weren't considered that strange and, like I said before, she was just too tired to care.
