Avoderm puppy food??

    Avoderm puppy food??

We just got an 8 week old little pup and I decided to get her on Avoderm puppy food. Now I know that it's not the best but I also know it's not the worst. We are crate training her and the area that we struggle with is the pooping. My question is since she is on a higher quality food would that mean she would not poop as often? I know at 8 weeks your supposed to take them out 15 min after they eat and she will pee but not poop. Would it be normal for her to not go poop for a couple of hours with the food? Sorry for the questions.......we are new at this whole puppy thing and I wanted to make sure with the food how it will work.

    Thanks

When she poops will just depend on her. Pay attention to about how long it takes, and count on then. At 8 weeks, she doesn't have a lot of control over her bowels (like.... almost none). It's your job to set her up to succeed.  Just watch her carefully, and make sure she doesn't get the chance to fail.

I would take the pup on a short walk, or for a quick round of fetch in the backyard after she pees. This movement will help stimulate her body to poop.

I agree with this. My pup will not poop after he pees unless I take him for a walk.  It doesn't have to be far - halfway around the block does it for him.
