Any experience with Elk Antler Chews ?

Are these good to give as a hard chew to a Labrador Pup... ?

They look good and hard and I've recently heard that many rawhide products have and still do get treated with Arsenic.

My older dog did not go after it. But my pup is gnawing away. I am very surprised no one even has an opinion.

Link to a place that sells farm raised Elk and cuts the Antler each season to sell .. Susposed to be good for joints also.

Oo, thanks for the link!  I bought something similar for Caleb awhile called Antlerz.  He loved it.  What I really liked about it was that it didn't chipp or splinter.  Rather, it looked like it was shaved.  The only thing I didn't like about it was that it was a little narrow for my comfort, and short.  Eventually, Caleb shaved enough off that it broke in half.  That's when it got tossed.

The site looks really good. I may order one, for Emma. She needs some chewie variety, and she's a smidge picky, so... it'll be interesting, anyways. I keep trying to get people to give me deer antlers!

The one my pup is chewing on right is solid , not a split one. It's really keeping him occupied. He's only 14 weeks old so he still has puppy teeth but he's taking the rough pebble like surface off the Elk Bone. It would appear to be softer than his teeth and the company says they don't splinter. But I won't leave him unsupervised with it.

It's funny that we sometimes miss the obvious mother nature supplies us.  I've also heard you can teach your dog to find Deer Antlers in the woods.

I bought an antler chew at the IX dog show this past year. And the lady was right, it does last longer than normal chews as it endured 2 months. They're kind of pricey, mine was $8. Would I buy it again? I don't know since we have a rescue and he is a power chewer, I am worried how much he can swallow. He eats fast!
