    Is there any reason why . . . .

my dog and I shouldn't share a peach?  I'm trying to get more fresh fruits and veggies into my diet and the other day I was munching a fresh peach.  Jamison just about went crazy over the smell of it, so I cut off a piece and gave it to him.  He liked it so much that we pretty much ended up sharing the peach.  I know you shouldn't give a dog grapes or raisins, but are other fruits ok in moderation??

As always - thanks for your help!

I think they're ok, just make sure he doesn't get the pit. They can contain small amounts of something bad... arsenic I think? I'm sure someone else will come along that knows more than me. That was just my first thought. Smile

I just shared a banana with my dogs.  Yesterday we split an apple.  They love pineapple and all kinds of melons, too.

Peaches are fine. Teenie loved ALL fruit (she had a biiiig sweet tooth! It got her into trouble, a couple of timesWink). The pits are not ok, mostly because of the risk of blockage. They do contain a small amount of arsenic, but you'd have to grind it into powder for your dog to break it down.

Fruit is full of vitamins, antioxidents etc. Just no pits or seeds.
