Oops sorry its the DARK one that is NORMAL :) In one pic I even put a few of the strange color ones in the bowl to see how different looking it is.... Its a huge difference in smell as well and even the weight of the food when I put it in my hands. Again my dogs are the true test they refuse it period....

WELL if the "light" one is "wrong" then it happened to me too. I tried ever single flavor of NB haha (come over my house ill give you the bags for free! im like a darn pet store)

The small bite duck & potato was a different color then the organic and venison formulas. Maybe they have a bad mass production of that formula? I'm going to try and take pics too for u guys (if i can find the darn camera charger, i've been dying w/o it!!)

If theres one world I know its the business world. The lady she's talking to probably has never been to the production plant in her life. You've got your representatives and offices then you've got your manufacture factories/plants.

This woman was trained to say what the customers want to hear or need to hear to protect their company. She has no clue why you got a bag of yellow food. And considering NB is nationwide manufactured there is no way they can really pin point it right away. That bag could have been made months ago in a long assembly line of mass production.

The bottom line is, if you are looking for an answer... you probably won't get one unless you demand that they investigate. But why? Too many people get GOOD bags. I think you need to let the pet store know about it & buy else where or order online.

Yeah,,,there sure is a difference.  I wonder how you can get someone to seriously discuss this with you.  If it were Eagle Pack....you would be talking to John who would explain in detail any problem that your having........ this is aggrivating.   It just seems like there  is no one answering.... because its true that the person on the phone is just blowing it off....if you take it back they will just give you another bag to try.   Don't know if calling and demanding an explaination of  WHY they are different or you will not be purchasing their food anymore will help. I don't mean to be nasty or anything...but seriously they need to explain why something like this could/would and did happen.

 Go here to when I last posted on this subject and you will see the response I got from NB....  I just keep nagging this Jennifer cause I know they probably never even took a look at the food or tested it.... Im not that stupid. This time I sent her pics and still got no where really.....I told her if my Scottie could eat something other than this I wouldn't even bother messing with all the emailing I would move on to a different food in a heart beat...

 When I first tried NB about 3 yrs ago I had problems w/the duck and potato kibble. My problem though was buying the larger sizes in the paper bags instead of the plastic ones. All you need is a tiny PINHOLE  to let air in and then the food becomes rancid.  I've also had problems with plastic bags as well. I bought some Wellness Core that had gone bad because the bag wasn't sealed properly at the factory. I also had a problem with some Merrick food that had gone rancid because of staple holes in the bag. It could be a number of different things. Needless to say I stopped buying all of those brands except the CORE. I just always make sure to check my bags carefully.  Did you by any chance check the Best By date on the bag ? I had a problem with some Canine Caviar which happened to be out of date ( the print was over print on the label so wasn't very noticeable until I really went looking for it when the food didn't smell "fresh" ).

I would have thought the D&P would be a different colour than the organic,and the organic would be a different colour to the venison,because they're all different formula's with different ingredients. You could only compare the exact same formula's with one another.

My theory on the Light and dark kibbles,is probably inconsistency in ingredients,if there's more potato than usual,or a different shade of whatever ingredient, it will probably be lighter,perhaps have less meat than usual putting some dogs off the food.If it was off there would no doubt be a smell to it.??
