    sporn halters...

Has anyone used a sporn halter? I saw them and thought about trying. I've tried Kaiser on the gentle leader, gentle leader harness, a halti, and a prong. the prong is good for just a basic walk...but when i get in a public place...i want maximum control

Zoe uses the Sporn and I like it a lot for her.  My only issue is I don't like the little sherpa thingies for under the arms (although she doesn't mind).  Without them though, I noticed after a while there was some rubbing.  I notice a def. difference in how she walks with it on vs. with it off though!

I also have a Sporn, and it, along with training, has managed to turn a hauling monster into a relatively well-behaved walker.

I agree , the sherpasleeve things can rub a bit into the fur, but I find that if you replace them often enough it isnt too much of a problem (you can get replacements sleeves on some website...don't remember the name but they are out there). Overall, Sporn makes a great harness and I think it gives you a lot of control.

At first I didn't know what you ment by Sporn collar so I gooled it. I bought one except it was called a "no-pull harness". It does noting for gizmo but it worked wonderful on Georga. It seemes as it pulled on Gizzy she just pulled harder, she does this with any harness, I use a prong with her because thats the only thing I've found to work. Of corse a trainer showed me how to use it correctly otherwise I would have no idea how a prong works. Now for Georgia, she would pull but nothing that I couldn't handel, it was just annoying so I bought her the no-pull harness and right away it worked for her. Each dog is different, just need to find what works for your dog.

kira doesn't like it, but it works, she doesn't pull anymore...

we don't always use it, sometimes, just her regular collar, but more often the harness...

I would think a prong would give you more control than a sporn harness.  Thick furred determined dogs usually are quite happy to pull hard against a sporn.
