    Why Drive to Obedience Class?

Especially with today's outrageous fuel prices?

As a dog trainer, I am impressed by the quality of this convenient way to take a training class and decided to join Dove Cresswell as an affiliate. I invite you to do the same! Tell me what you think about this fun Online Puppy and Dog Training Course:

With it posted in 3 places, I'm thinking

Err... I think that part of the training should involve a trainer right there with you to watch your dog and help you.  I think this site gereralizes all dogs into the same gorup and same training which in a way isn't that great.  Each dog is differnt and need slightly different methoud of training.  Yeah it may work for a few but I belive that you need a trainer present with your dog while doing the training.  I'de rather drive 70miles (and I do) to get personalized training.

To add to that it souds like you are trying to promote a busness or sell something which on here is not the best thing to do when you are new.  Pluse you made multiple bords about this same subject which is also agenst the rules on this forum.

The majority of pet owners do better in a public class.  The distraction training, social responsibility and accountability of their peers in the class help establish a new set of behaviors.  Even experienced folks opt for the social aspect of dog training.  Besides, solicitation is not allowed on this site.

i have trained my dogs myself and have had no issues with them
now i am in the country and have my 5 1/2 month old pup
i will be taking her to puppy class that is about a 40 minute drive...why am i doing this??
cause she needs socialization and to learn to listen to me no matter what distractions, other dogs or people are around her
i would not beable to get that with an online class
and if i need any extra help with my dog, i come here

Most likely she will not see your message, nor any of the others.  She is an internet affiliate who makes sales each time somene signs up to the website she posted.  The site doesn't belong to her.  I imagine she has some kind of bot that can scan all dog forums on the net and post the same message.

If that is your web site, I must say you are a beautiful woman, but then, I'm a dog!

As mentioned above, feedback is essential. I was allowing my dog to train ME without me realising it until my trainer pointed it out.

Maybe you can learn tricks online, but the subtilies of obdience must be taught/learned in person.

You are probably quite correct - I hardly ever bother to follow any such links.  At any rate, at least anyone who spots this thread may take the advice not to bother either:-))
