    UKC Jr Agility Nationals!

    Today was the day!

Got up at 4:45. Had to be out of the house by 6 am. First we watched a few breed rings at 8 am. Got to watch the Border Collies, English Pointers, and the ESSs.

By 9:30 we were wondering back over to the agility room to see how things were going and to check in. Cocoa got brushed, and we warmed up a bit by doing some tricks and trotting/running around. All the Jrs were just put into the Ag 1 class and ran the same course. It was a pretty easy course, though Joe(Reese, judge) put the dog walk with a sharp corner. In UKC everything must be straight on and off on contacts, so you had to be careful to make sure your dog didn't cut the corner on the up ramp. No biggy.

But man! Cocoa was RUNNING!! And FAST!! Her butt was wiggling the entire time. What a fun run! But, Cocoa did do a down on the table instead of a sit when I told her to. She jumped on it, I said sit, she went down. So, I had to tell her to sit again, but she bounced right back up with her tail just wagging like crazy! And the last three jumps! Man, she was flying! It was defintely a fun run. That alone made my day. And then we got to see our times. I got SECOND!! The person that got first(with a corgi) only beat me by .57 seconds!!!! (Haha.. that was probably the difference on the table, and Cocoa's slightly larger turn going to the a-frame.)

Overall, very good day. Fun run... what a fun run.

Wow, sounds like a great day for you and Cocoa!

How are she and Marq doing, BTW? We haven't seen much of you, lately[:D]

Cocoa and Marq have been doing good. :)  Though, Marq still isn't stop chewing on that one foot of his.  Which doesn't surprise me considering the junk he is being fed.  But hopefully now that he has gained his weight we can switch him to a good food.

As for me, I've been busy.  I'm trying to spend less time online, though I still do spend alotof time talking to friends over the internet..  but I am still trying to cut down on internet and forum time.  I wasted too much time on the internet last summer, and I've promised myself to make this a fun, memorable summer.  So, so far this summer I've been spending more time just doing other things.  Taken up running again.  Got new fiction books to read.  And definitely spending more time with friends.  And *gasp* going to church and youth groups with friends.

BTW, Marq is entered in his first agility trial on July 1/2!  He will be entered in AG 1 in UKC and Tunnelers, Touch-n-Go, and Jumpers in NADAC.  He's really doing so well!
