So we put little Shaka to the test today...

We did some great scenario work today with Shaka, and I just have to brag on him.

I walk home from work everynight, and we live/work in the very center of downtown Cincinnati...lots of dope boys out when I head home at about 10:00pm.  Most of the time they leave me alone, mainly because the dogs I walk home with are intimidating. As many of you know Shaka participates in PSA and the whole idea behind it is a sport that prepares a dog for real life scenarios.  Today we set one up and he was awesome!

The plan was simple, start on my walk home as per normal (only difference is that it's daytime).  One of our new decoys would be hiding out on the way (in a street suit), and then he would try and mug me.  I went through my normal lock up routine (he waits at the door in guard), and then we headed out. We got about half way home, and all the sudden I hear foot steps right behind me.  Shaka glances back and keeps walking.  Then the banter starts with the decoy asking for change, and I ignore him.  He gets a little more persistent, and then starts charging me.  I sent Shaka after him, and he ripped the decoy to the ground...it was a perfect shoulder bite.

Then the big surprise came, one of our other trainers was hiding as well, and came out after me as soon as I sent shaka on the first decoy.  He scared the crap out of me since no one mentioned this to me.  I called Shaka back towards me and he laid a back bite right on the decoys  shoulder blade knocking him to the ground (thankfully he didn't hit the back of his neck). When the 2nd decoy stopped moving Shaka released and took up position between both men.  The first decoy started to get up, and shaka grabbed his arm and jerked him around. He stoping moving and Shaka let go taking up position between them again. I called him back to me, and ended in a perfect heel.

This was his first situation that was totally unpredictable (as far as he was concerned).  He listened to my voice perfectly, which is tough when they are so deep into their fight drive.

His technique was great driving straight into the decoy using his body and very full mouth bites.

I was very proud of him...it was like watching a little boy become a man all in one moment.

Way to go Shaka [sm=clapping%20hands%20smiley.gif]  I wish that Bevo had that kind of drive.
