Yeay! Trudy did a clean Run in 55 sec.

We had our last agility class last night. We did a UKC Intermediate course (19 obstacles with weaves and a down crawl, to boot). We were timed and judged and Trudy did a clean run in 55 sec.!

Trudy has been struggling with the teeter for a while now and this was a huge breakthrough.

I bought a teeter base, and a board and have been working with her and Grace on the teeter a few times a week. It is now in my basement. We go down there in the morning to run it 2-3 times per dog. I have to be careful not to allow them both to be loose together while we are practicing because they race to get to the teeter. I tether one to the treadmill while the other one is working.

Lots of jackpots, big doggy smiles and then scramble back upstairs. It seems to have worked!

We may go to a couple of fun matches in January and February and then officially start in UKC in the Spring.

I actually did do one local Novice UKC class with her in the Fall just to see how she would react to the different environment and the crowd. She did really well...except for the dreaded teeter. She bailed three times and that was an NQ. The rest of her run was flawless. I'd like her to get on a few different teeters just to boost her confidence. She really is a special little gal. (of course I'm partial).
