Need to switch food, any suggestions

My vet recommended switching foods about 4 times a year and I know that people on this board also agree.  My dogs love Solid Gold, what do you think I should switch them to?  We have tried everything well except nature's variety and TO-but I can't get TO in my area.  They have liked the foods before, just not as much as Solid Gold, what should I do?

Give something a try and see how they do.
I am always happy to recommend PetGuard Lifespan, my dogs do better on it than any other holistic type kibble.

There's also Innova, which is good for some dogs, a bit rich for mine but my sister's westie thrives on it.

You could rotate between the different types of Solid Gold (I honestly don't remember if they had more than one or not).  You could also try Innova, California Natural, Canidae, Natural Balance, etc :)

Solid Gold has 6 different adult diets.  Hundenflocken, which is Lamb.  Wolf King, which is Bison and Salmon.  Wee Bits, which is also Bison and Salmon, but with high protien and fat for small breed dogs.  Millenium, which is beef.  Holistique, which is fish and really meant as a low calorie diet or for dogs with Kidney or panrease issues.  Lastly, their new formula Howl at the  Moon, which is Chicken and Turkey and is their grainless diet.

    Maybe rotate between Solid Gold.

My dog also likes and does well on Solid Gold, but he also likes and does well on Eagle Pack Holistic Lamb, and Timberwolf Organics.

Wow! I'm not trying to hi-jack the thread, but I've never heard that switching foods many times is a good thing. I was always told to keep them on the same thing. Now I don't feel so bad for switching once a year.

bullterrors (lol)-- It is actually beneficial to change your dogs diet from time to time so that you can be sure their diet is not deficient in any nutrients (which some foods have more of one thing than another, etc etc).

Bullterors i switch on a daily basis,i usually have 5 or 6 bags on the go at the same time. I do it for the reasons papillion outlined, aswell as the boredom factor of making my dogs eat the same food day in day out [&:]

Here is an update, when i got to Pet Supplies Plus, I was going to get the fish one of SG, but I chickened out thinking that my dogs would not like it, and got the beef kind.  Needless to say, they both finished up their meals last night.!  Thanks for all of  the replies.
