    Which Type of Food?

Which type of food should I feed a 10 month old English Shepherd? Any ideas will be greatly appreciated! He is not allergic to anything and will eat anything you give him. I just don't know what is the best nutrition wise!

What type of food? The one that works for him of course! [:)]

I can't recommend a food specifically, because every dog is so different, as are owners views on nutrition. I personally have had great luck with Canidae www.canidae.com

One good place to learn about reading labels and ingredients to look for/avoid is www.dogfoodproject.com

A list of some good dry foods is herehttp://www.dogaware.com/dogfeeding.html#TopDry

My ridgeback loves everything and is allergic to nothing as well. He especially loves Innova large breed puppy...and i've gotten outstanding results! He only poops twice a day, his eyes are clear, and his coat is smooth and silky. I highly recommend it!

    I second everyone's advice also.
My favorite for my guys is [linkhttp://www.petguard.com]www.petguard.com[/link] the Lifespan formula.

If I could feed a regular food I'd probably be using Wysong or Solid Gold or maybe even Pinnacle.

I've had lots of luck with foods that are fish, lamb, and/or beef based, with the main grain ingredient being barley for summer and oatmeal in the winter.  I have Border collies and this is the breed-based diet I've applied to them after TONS of research and tweaking.  I use two different Solid Gold products, Natural Balance, Pinnacle, Balckwood 5000, and another local milled feed that is high in lamb.  I supplement with raw meaty bones, green tripe, fresh fish, cottage cheese and yogurt, and fruits and veggies sort of for the fun of it and to keep the variety going.

My wife and I are picking up an eight week old Beagle puppy soon, and want to change from what the breeder feeds (Purina Puppy Chow).  We have limited are choices down to 3, which a readily available locally.  Nutro Natural Choice Ultra Puppy, Wellness Super5Mix Puppy, and Solid Gold Hundchen Flocken.  I figure we will probably end up buying a small bag of one to start and see if our puppy likes it.  Can anyone suggest trying any of these brands over the other?  Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hundchen Flocken would be my preference.

Nutro Natural Choice Ultra Puppy, Wellness Super5Mix Puppy, and Solid Gold Hundchen Flocken.

If those are your choices, I would order them:

    1. Solid Gold
    2. Wellness
    3. Nutro

To the OP: I also like Canidae, and Eagle Pack in addition to the ones already mentioned.

Thanks for the responses.  I had been leaning toward the Hundchen Flocken myself .  Hopefully our new bundle of joy will enjoy the choice.  Thanks again for the suggestions.
