Switching Foods

• Switching Foods Dominique Doucet Posted : 6/27/2006 8:42:55 AM Hello I am currently trying to switch my puppy's food. The first kind we had wasn't a very good quality (corn was the first ingredient), so we invested in a higher quality food especially designed for small breed puppies. I know you are supposed to do the switch gradually and mix his old and new foods together. They are both dry foods. For the past two days, Jagger has been selecting all the pieces of the new kind and eating those. He doesn't touch his old kind anymore (obviously doesn't like it that much). It is pretty cute to watch him sort throught his little bowl of food![] I am glad he loves the new stuff, but he isn't getting a full serving of his meals, since he only eats the "new" portion. • glenmar Posted : 6/27/2006 8:51:23 AM Since he's only eating the new stuff now and not having any bowel issues that you mentioned, just give him the new stuff.  It isn't carved in stone that you MUST do a gradual switch...just suggested to avoid tummy trouble and the darned exit problems.   When Tyler came back to us after two months of Pedigree, you better believe there was no gradual switch...I gave her back the bag she offered.  Not gonna have that crap in my house.  He went directly back to Innova without so much as a soft stool. 0 LIKE Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available.
