    nature's variety

I bought some nature's variety beef meal and barley, and the kibble was so small.does larger kibble help clean teeth? Is there another nature's variety food with bigger kibble? oh and is this a good dog food?

I don't think that kibble size has anything to do with keeping teeth clean, but I could be wrong...

Sally is on Nature's Variety and is doing better on it than any other food so far.

I fed NV beef/barley I think it was close to 4 months.  The dogs didn't have many teeth problems, but I do keep up with brushing and giving CET chews.

My problem w/the kibble was that it was really greasy and had a weird smell to it (I'm preganant and have a super sniffer) lol so Im sure that doesn't help.

The kibble size is the same for all of their varieties.  My dogs are doing fantastic on it.  It does have a different smell, but it pleased the noses around here.

On a side note their customer service is AWESOME!! I bought a bag and it had ONE weird shaped kibble in kinda like three stuck together or something.

They sent me a coupon for a whole new bag for FREE and no questions asked, thanked me for letting them know, they said it happens when there is too much moisture or if the bag gets punctured the kibble can stick together.

So far so good on this food.

I think its a great food too. I had to stop using it though, becuase Jetta had some sort of reaction to it. She became very itchy...But I would highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't have an allergy dog.

Winston is on the Chicken and Rice Kibble with "bio" something raw meat sprayed on each kibble - which is why I think there is that "greasy" stuff on it.  But, he loves the kibble, it's the only kibble he'll eat, and he also has the Nature's Variety raw lamb medallions that we feed in conjunction with the kibble.  I have done my research and it's a very good food.  If your dog does well on it, then I would reccommend staying with it.

Dry kibble of any size does not aid in cleaning teeth... contrary to popular belief.
