    Best books on canine nutrition

I am doing some research for a project and need several books on canine nutrition. What I am looking for is non-bais books that don't endorse a particular feeding style, but I'm also interested in some "holistic" books that cover overall heath and the co-relation with nutrition.

I know that there are many here that have huge libararies and can give me lots of good titles to look for.

You probably know this one already but "The Nature of Animal Healing " by Martin Goldstein may be of some value. Someone recently mentioned on another thread that they had quite a few books on dog nutrition so hopefully they'll be along soon. I like Shawn Messonier's books such as " The Allergy Solution for Dogs" but don't know how useful they would be for you.

Here some that might be of interest.
    * Scientific Advances in Animal Nutrition by: National Research  Council
    * Anti-Aging for Dogs by: John M. Simon and Steve Duno
    * Optimal Nutrition for Optimal Health by: Thomas E. Levy
    * Amino Acids in Animal Nutrition by: J.P.F.D'Mello

is non-bais books that don't endorse a particular feeding style,

What do you mean by non bias? [8D] Practically all of my books advocate one way of feeding or the other, such as Volhard, shultze, pitcairn, billinghurst, lonsdale, etc etc

There's a few that dont seem to favour one particular type, and they are

'Veterinarians guide to natural remedies for dogs' by Martin Zucker

'The nature of animal healing'                               by Martin Goldstein(mentioned above)

'8 weeks to a healthy dog'                                     by Shawn Messonier

'Natural health bible for dogs and cats'                   by Shawn Messonier

I dont tend to go for the 2000 page scientific type books,i dont have the attention span for them [8|]

If you need the names of the books by the abovementioned authors, just let me know.

Thanks for the responses so far!

I really WANT the NRC's "Nutritional Requirements....", but., WOW, the price! OUCH! Sure, I can read the *old* one for free online, but I want up-to-date info.

The Scientific advances is now on my list to purchase.

I just recieved one today, Canine Nutrition by Lowell Ackerman. I haven't had a chance to open it yet though. I'll save that for bedtime reading tonight.

It would be really nice to get some more titles. ANYONE?
