Is lamb & rice better than chicken & rice?

• Is lamb & rice better than chicken & rice? pb_n_chocolate Posted : 6/5/2006 8:13:10 PM Someone told me it's more beneficial if you give Lamb & rice rather than Chicken because Lamb is graze fed whereas Chicken's are fed by products,hormones, and kept in unsanitary enclosed environments..... • brookcove Posted : 6/5/2006 10:02:43 PM Most American lamb is confinement finished also (complete with hormones, grain feeding, and antibiotics).  Check to see whether it says all-natural, hormone free, or New Zealand.  American chicken does not contain hormones.  It's illegal.  Antibiotics, however, are present, as are high levels of salmonella and high acidity associated with grain feeding. Judge by the individual brand and MOST importantly what's better for your dog.  Chicken is often more easily digested but lamb has higher levels of lineolic acids and natural GAGs.  Lamb is also often better accepted by dogs with food sensitivities. 0 LIKE Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available. • Hope Lumbis Posted : 6/6/2006 8:43:16 PM I personally feed my dog's a chicken diet and have had no problems with that. Lamb and Rice was originally made for dog's with food allergies to Chicken products. So if your dog is on a Lamb and Rice food and does develop allergies you are going to have to transfer over to other alternatives such as kangaroo or hypoallergenic and such foods.
