In my limited experience with EVO, I've only run across 1 dog out of 4 that did well on it. The other 3 had some serious runs, even after a very slow transition. Some people, obviously, feed the formula and have terrific results. As said before, it just depends on your dog and what s/he does well on. We don't sell Innova through our store mainly because the distribution is pretty pricey, but also because all of their formulas right now are chicken & turkey based. I read (on here I think) that they're finally starting to come out with some foods that use different meat sources, which may make their distribution pricing a little bit easier to swallow.
We sell a lot of Eagle Pack, mainly because they hit so many different protein sources and their food is very reasonably priced. I think the only formula that isn't as cheap or cheaper to feed than pet store brands is Fish & Oatmeal. Also Eagle Pack runs a lot of coupon programs which makes the price of feeding even cheaper. Just going by local prices, Eagle Pack looks cheaper to me than Innova in the end.
For a 50 pound dog:
Eagle Pack HS Lamb Meal & Rice (33lbs @ $35.99)
57¢ per day
Innova EVO Dog Dry (28.6lbs @ $46.99)
81¢ per day
Regardless of cost, I still say feed what your pet does the best on, if you can afford it.
