What soft foods are out there??

    • Gold Top Dog
I would definately try the canned cat food.  Bil Jac also makes a soft, frozen food ( I know the ingredients are nasty, but if your trying to get them to eat, anything helps!).  We have a lady who's old maltese will not eat anything but that frozen food.

    Oh, definitely, Lori.

My two will do back flips for Wellness canned cat foods - and my Jillian is as picky as they come.  But, Wellness cat food is the ONLY one I can sneak her pills into without her spitting them out.  Honeslty, I dip her pills in the Wellness, kinda like dipping a chip in the dip, and she doesn't even hesitate to swallow them down.  Her favorites are the Chicken & Herring and Salmon & Trout.  I have tried other manufacturer's and haven't found anything as irresistable.

Update---Called the vet, she said to stop the meds.

I ended up getting some NB dog food roll and she did eat that this morning and I left some for dinner.  So, we'll see if she eats it.

The vet said to gradually as she starts to feel a little better wean her back to her usual food and call her in a couple of weeks.

She's going to need to repeat the blood work and then we'll go from there.[&:]

OMG, thank you all so much.  I came back and there were all these well wishes for Willow, I'm really touched.  Not that I'd expect anything less here.

Update--She did eat a NB dog food roll yesterday but today nothing.  So, we will see, I guess.  I'm getting more nervous waiting for the next blood test than anything.  [&:]

The waiting can be so frustrating. Did the vet say what the possible causes are for her white blood cell count being low?
    • Gold Top Dog
She did have some ideas.  It could be something simple like an infection somewhere in here body.  So, that's why she wanted to start with a course of antibiotics.  But, she can't tolerate them so we stopped as of today.

Or, it could be something more serious like a thyroid problem, Cushings or Addison's.  I think the next step is going to be one more blood check and if things aren't better to test for Cushing's and/or Addison's.  Both of which she's tested negative for in the past.

I just look at her and want to cry, it's pathetic.  She thinks I've lost it.  [&:]

I can imagine how hard this must be for you; about 2 years ago I discovered a lump about the size of a walnut under the skin on Jessie's side just in front of where the rear leg meets the body. I took her to the vet who aspirated it twice to make sure she could get a definitive diagnosis. It took a few days to get the results and I was like you while waiting to find out what it was; the thought of her having a serious illness was almost unbearable. Fortunately it was a fatty lump and not cancer.
If it does turn out to be something serious know that we will be here to give you support as you deal with it; please try not to worry too much; it may not be anything serious. Sending healing thoughts and BIG HUGS for Willow.
