What brand dog food you feed your dogs?

Max has been on Eagle Pack Holistic for a little over a year.  Before that he was on Kirkland Chicken with Rice. I don't notice much difference in the foods myself, but his poops are smaller on  the EP. I think the Kirkland was about $18 for a 40 lb. bag and the EP is $45 for a 33 lb. bag (I have to go to a feed store to get it) but I really don't notice the cost much because he only eats 1-1/2 or 2 cups a day.  It takes him about 3 months to finish a bag of EP.

Gosh have I been through SO many different foods with Harley.  Most recent TWO Venison, Solid Gold Holistique and now we are trying Wellness Fish and sweet potato.  I was very surprised to see Harley just chow this food down.  The other foods he would nibble and eat.  When I put the Wellness in his dish it is gone in a matter of minutes.  I think at this point...this is his most favorite food he has been on!

Why would you switch from Wellness Core to the Orijen...I use them both, and mix them along with TWO Ocean Blue. I was just wondering if you find one is superior to the other and why so..
    Thanks

Wilbur..............You and I have almost the same kibble rotation.  I use TWO Wild & Natural or Ocean Blue , Wellness Core and both Orijen formulas.  They also get a variety of canned foods,  Nature's Variety Instinct raw ( all varieties ), butchershop raw and homecooked.  I tend to find that my crew has better coats on TWO than any other food with the exception of Orijen, because those two foods have the highest amount of Omega 3's.  However I'm getting ready to add Addiction to my rotation, especially the canned foods.  The Unagi intriques me and I think these guys would enjoy it. I also like the idea that the Kangaroo is so high in CLA's and being "green" I also like the idea that the food comes from wild , culled animals who would otherwise destroy more of the ecosystem so it's an all-around wise choice for us.

look back through this thread..... unless your pup has allergies or somethign like that i would try him on most anything. the people here are pretty knowledgeable about dog foods. :)

right now sydney is eating (just switched to it) nature's variety prairie. he has eaten blue for large breeds, blackwood 3000, and wellness super 5 mix (a few of the varieties). the blue seemed to make sydney a little itchy. but other than that his fur has been soft and his poops are small and he seems to like the taste of all of them.

Gosh what HAVEN’T we tried!  We did Timberwolf for a good year+, but it is hard to find locally and I got tired of having to buy it online and about 8 months ago we got a great new pet food place open a block from my house but they don’t carry timberwolf so we switched their food for convenience sake

The staple food we currently feed is Taste of the Wild Salmon. I don’t think it is as good as some of the others out there, but it really is decent for the price and since I seriously spent over $500 a month to feed two dogs and two cats, I look for reasonable food that I feel comfortable enough in terms of quality to feed.

I also rotate in some other dry foods for variety which often include evo, evangers, EP, and most recently “before grain.”

Canned foods is where my guys get the greatest variety though. In addition to cooking some times for them, feeding canned salmon, mackerel and smoked herring, I also feed canned:

    Evangers

    Wellness

    Before grain

    Mulligan stew

    Canidae

    EVO

    Tiki Dog

    Trippet

All of those I would personally recommend and my dogs do well on them

Taste of the Wild's website says that they will be coming out with canned versions of all of their formulas.  If you like to mix those in, you should keep an eye out for those coming out.
