Good quality food for 2 y/o and 3 m/o?

Is there any food I can feed both my 2 y/o beagle and my 3 m/o beagle? They are starting to want each other's food and I would like to feed them the same now. TIA!

Sure, any food marked All Life Stages will work just fine. Canidae comes to mind, but there are lots more.

Hard to make a good recommendation without knowing their weight, how active they are, or what kind of food they eat now. If you're just asking for brands, I'd say Eagle Pack, Solid Gold, or Nature's Variety.

PetGuard Lifespan makes an all stages formula.  It's available at most health food stores.

Generally, most adult dog foods are formulated for all life stages, read on the back of the bag and it should say somewhere.

I keep finding myself back to feeding Bil-Jac, frozen and dry.  I get flamed a LOT for this unfortunatley, but it works so well for them.   I guess that's where the saying: "Feed what works for your dog" comes in.

Both of my dogs eat Nature's Variety chicken diet.  They both love it and look great.

I was thinking about rotating food i use innova now and was going to rotate with canidae, I also wanted to try artemis is looks really good. But then i heard about nature's variety, so i'm wondering... would it be better to stick with one brand that has several different flavors. Do you rotate or have you tried the other flavors?  I  e-mailed the company to see if they could tell me  how to rotating their different foods and this is what they sent me. It's looks really simple to follow, just not sure if I want to do raw. Only cuz it makes me nervous.

Here is  week 1. They sent a me 3 weeks/month menu if anyone is interested. let me know and i'll post that too.

week #1 (or month #1) (lamb, chicken and rabbit)
Monday: raw lamb
Tuesday: dry chicken
Wednesday: can rabbit
Thursday: raw lamb
Friday: dry chicken
Saturday: raw lamb
Sunday: dry chicken

Thanks all. I should have mentioned that they are pure beagles. Don't yell, but right now they are eating Purina 1 (puppy form for puppy,  adult form for the 2 y/o). Actually, their coats are very shiny, and they are healthy (other than my KC's kennel cough right now). I guess I would call them normal active. Not real hyper but not sleeping all the time either.

It all depends on the dog...for some, premium foods won't work, and for some they will work wonders.  My pup gave me hell trying to find a food that he will eat, and Royal Canin is the first food that he has completely eaten his entire bowl of dry food for more than one day (I never have been able to get him to eat a whole bowl on any day until I switched--and the RC kcals were only 20 less than what he had been eating).  If they are on something that they both eat and are doing well on, stick with it.  The only brands (that I know of) that have all life stages formulas are the premium ones like Canidae, etc.

I should add that  I add chicken or beef to their dry food at supper time only. In the morning, I give only the dry dog food.  My 2 y/o, well most of the time she will not eat in the morning because it is just dog food, but she eats just fine at supper. The pup, he was eating like a horse when I first got him, but now he has calmed down and I don't know if he just does not need all the food I thought he did (I feed him about 3/4 c twice a day, plus the real meat at supper. He seems to be eating about 1/2 c twice a day plus the meat. They are doing fine on the purina 1, but I really wanted something that I could set down and they could both eat, so I don't have to worry about my big girl getting too many calories, and him not getting enough. I am not sure if I could feed the purina 1 adult to the pup, but maybe I will check that out.

When I used to feed Purina (even Pro Plan), my dog was never really obsessed with it. I feed Canidae now and he loves it! Here's the All Life Stages formula that both of your dogs could eat:http://canidae.com/dogs/all_life_stages/dry.html

I've been feeding it for over a year now and my dog still goes crazy for it (I feed once in the morning and once in the evening). If you have a Pet Supplies Plus around, a 40 lb. bag of Canidae will cost around $31 there.

Good luck! [:)]

Thank you Audrey. I think I have decided to try the Canidae again (my 2 y/o handled this fine, but at that time I had my beloved lemon boy beagle and he did not like this). I have a natural dog bakery that I can order from. Thanks again, everyone!
